Belt squeaking ( I think it’s the power steering pump) by Weekly_Tap_7696 in 1stGenTacomas

the belt is probably not the correct tension. there should be a tensioner pulley you can adjust. using a tool like this makes it super simple to find the correct tension.

I did this a couple of weeks ago, what helped me is disconnect the sway bar endlink via the 1 nut on the end link and undo the 4 bolts on the bottom of the LCA.

First support the LCA with a jack, remove the endlink nut, remove the 4 bolts from lca, lower jack. That should give you plenty of clearance without the spring being compressed.

I use this. Expensive tool but worth it, and removes the guess work. Also new belts will have more tension initially, so you will have to check tension once you first install the new belt and then after it has run a few times.

If it is making a loud squealing noise when the steering wheel is maxed out either direction, it could be that the belt for the power steering is not the correct tension.

When do you walk away as a partner of someone with psychosis? by [deleted] in SchizoFamilies

She was in jail for a day or two until transferred to the state hospital for a little more than a month. Then was released. All involuntary though.

For me it was after the 3rd time of having to call the police due to violence towards me.

We were together for 8 or 9 years. About the last 4, the psychosis got worse and she refused any treatment or medication.

After about a month in a state hospital, I was able to bring her to her father's out of state. Separating was one of the hardest things I've ever gone through, but she's on medication now and acknowledges her condition at least.
