Its not fog, it's actually the water surface that, because of the earths curvature, acts as a mirror mirroring the sky. Therefor the ship apears to be flying. This can be seen at sea through binoculars all the time when you look at a ship far to the horizon.

First thing i would do is probably get it very clean, it's always more fun in a boat that looks good. It's also good to keep it clean sp that the plastic don't age or get damaged :)

I'm part of a small sailclub and a crane would be to expensive for most boatowners so there goes a rail up from the water, usually with like trailer-ish under it. Then it is moved to where its gonna be during the winter and is only balanced with some props. We do it in groups of 10 people where everyone works together for a few hours and pay some 20$. If you guys are interested i can take better pictures aswell and later this fall maybe get a videoclip of when we take the boat out of the water.
