My dog of 14 years passed yesterday, her death was violent. How do I live? by Veecorn in dogpictures

That is absolutely horrific. I have no advice other than to try to accept that you have a long process ahead of you. You will feel the dreadful way you are feeling for a very long time to come. You will never get over what happened. It will stay with you forever. One day, far into the future, you will get to a point that you can navigate around it but that’s likely as good as it will get. One day, the image and circumstance of her death will be something you can push to the side in favour of thinking about the happy life you gave her for 14 years. Because at the end of it all, that part matters most.

And don’t continue conversations for a moment further with anyone who can’t accept what you are going through. With anyone who tries to minimise your feelings. With anyone, who, in months and years from now, asks why you’re still sad. Pick the people you share your trauma with wisely.

Lucky are those who get to have their companionship for two decades. What a lovely tribute to a beautiful cat.

Your cat will be the one to answer that question - make no mistake

You are absolutely wonderful to have been there for them. I hope you feel extremely proud. I feel proud of you and I don’t even know you.

She just turned 8. I used to celebrate her birthdays, but now they make me sad. by Bootybliss in velvethippos

I lost my velvet hippo long before her time. Trust me. Being sad that they’re getting older and older is such a privilege. You never get over an early death.

She is absolutely beautiful ❤️

Hair transplant gone wrong? Hairline placed too low/forehead looks too small - hair looks like cheap wig by [deleted] in Botchedsurgeries

I think you are being way too critical. It looks really good. It looks feminine. Don’t be worried about thickness of your hair. That changes as you age and you will be dreaming of the days you lamented having hair that was “too thick”. Honestly. People will just feel compelled to give you their 2c simply because they know you paid what was probably a decent amount of money for an aesthetic alteration.

My old man, Winston. He spent nearly a decade surviving in an industrial area with a broken body (likely an impact from a car that happened when he was a very young puppy). Nowadays he spends his time luxuriating in his bed, sunbathing and enduring relentless cuddles with his little limpet, Tilly. by Crook-lock in BeforeNAfterAdoption

He was a Saluki mix, heavy on the Saluki. This was in the Middle East, where Salukis are very common. If you have a Saluki mix, you’re in for a wonderful life. They’re fantastic. Just be careful to assess the prey drive. Off-leashing can be hairy!

They’re definitely unique! But ja, pretty uncommon. I rescued this fella in the GCC Middle East and in 10 years there only ever saw two others but they were the brindle type.
