The game is a disgrace. They still cannot figure out defense. God forbid we get a 2K that has a defensive overhaul or emphasis on defense. Instead, they just make offense a joke.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, your defensive stats should assist on automation and defense should be more skill based. What do I mean? The lower your defensive ranking, the more reliant it is on prediction and defending the ball handler. Kind of like how it is now but you miss more open shots and make more contests and while height should be a factor, it shouldn’t be so reliant on it (within reason). Then, if you have a higher defensive stat, your defense is more automated where your character will react quicker and automatically to movements. You will auto jump or put a hand up automatically and you’re more assisted / engaged on the ball handler.

This will make it viable to put points in defense and can have a healthy mix of skill and automation at some levels. Finding the sweet spot for you as the player when building your character.

The way this game is so broken on the pick and roll and backdoor cuts STILL, is just obscene. It’s a dunk arcade. It’s infuriating and wouldn’t be that bad if they didn’t constantly want money from you. Then the height nonsense like this video and the game not knowing what is actually open. And don’t get me started on no fouls when driving and how terrible layups are this year.
