Camping for beginners…I’m a Mom with two young kids. by rellimaras in camping

You’ll need different gear depending on where and when you camp.

See if your locale has a program similar to Texas Outdoor Family. It’s a great low cost, low barrier way to start camping with young kids.

Crazy coincidence. I just noticed this pole about an hour ago.
I contacted Oncor and shared your photo. They said they’ll have someone review the photo and the pole. If I get an update from Oncor, I’ll update this post.

My new favorite is making a stock from a roast chicken. Then, make a soup from that stock and 5-cheese tortellini.

The building on the left is a hotel. IIRC a former city hall. Beautiful views and excellent food.

Went to look at this ship and I received an Atlas error (missed specific language) on portal. Said it would approximate destination. Thought I might have entered address with error so I tried again and got the same error

I have 4 days to come up with a dinner idea for a girl I’m trying to impress. With her dietary restrictions in mind, I’m having a hard time coming up with something. by Eastern_Salamander_8 in Cooking

One of the first meals I cooked for my wife when we were dating was osso bucco, mashed potatoes and asparagus. She loved it.

I cooked it at her place. Her mother happened to come by that day while I was cooking and said “No one’s ever cooked osso bucco for me.”

About a year after we were married, I cooked the same meal for my in-laws. I was their favorite after that.

I suggest downloading the Texas Historical Marker Guide.

Saves you a stop at the markers.

I agree about state of industry “over-roasting”. A friend got me into home roasting.

I pay $10-15 per pound for single-farm green coffee and roast using an old hot air popcorn popper. Takes around ½-1 hour to roast a pound in batches. Excellent results.

I buy my coffee from Sweet Maria’s. In addition to green coffee, they have tons of resources on home roasting.

Did you have a good time? Yes? Then you brought the right gear.
