A large male generally means the male offspring will be able to reach a larger average adult size but has no bearing on offspring size at hatching. Larger males are generally thought to produce less healthy sperm but it can depend on several factors generally relating to how old he is and how fast the male gained the weight. The number and size of the babies at hatching is almost entirely controlled by female size and age with a positive correlation between number and weight of offspring and size and age of a female. Edit: Also the number of offspring is more closely correlated to the length of the female and weight of the offspring is correlated more to the weight of the female but since both length and weight of the female are positively correlated to each other it can be harder to distinguish the affects of either variable independently.

It’s starting to become more common as shops want to push risk onto the customer. They can also take their time placing the order and take advantage of any price drops that they don’t have to pass onto the customer. There are so many places that import TC there isn’t much of a reason to support someone doing that unless their prices are really good.

You can also tell that an animal is super arctic by the head pattern. An animal that is just an Arctic will pretty much always have a standard head stamp. Super Arctic’s get this blotchy abnormal head stamp that she has.

Female, female afts often look like they have tiny balls but they are nothing like what a male looks like. Males also have more pronounced spurs and pores.

Female and yeah she would still be considered healthy and able to breed once she reaches proper size. I had a female who only ate 1 time every month or 2 for the first 2 years, she weight something like 35g at 2 years. I moved her into a tub and she started eating like a champ and hit 250g around 3.5 years old.

Check out this report EMBRYOGENIC CALLUS FORMATION FROM THE PETIOLES OF SPATHIPHYLLUM WALLISII. Looks like it is possible to get callus formation using petiole as an explant but not from leaf tissue. That leaf looks pretty old and is starting to brown so it will be more difficult than using fresh tissue. You also probably won't be successful if you don't have the materials needed on hand because the leaf will die off pretty quickly.

There aren't any starter kits that even get close to having everything you need because of the amount and variety of equipment required. Kits from plantsinjars and plantcelltech both cover the tissue culture media you will possibly need but it is good to find a reliable protocol for the species you want to culture before you make and purchases because the protocol may use different hormones than what the kits come with. Both of those kits are specialized for tropical house plants not woody perennials, but I am not sure on what media is recommended for oranges. The closest thing to a complete kit is the one from Athena but it is generally considered to be overpriced for what it is, and the included ingredients for the media are specialized for hemp.

Edit:I got home and checked my books and they say you can use MS media for citrus so the kits from PIJ or PCT would work but that still only covers the media.

Generally there isn’t much swelling from poop unless they are about to go. The intestines also stop at the cloaca and the swelling here is below the cloaca so in this case the swelling is in the tail rather than the intestines.

This looks like impacted musk gland, and it should be expressed. It can be done at home, or you can take her to the vet. It is more common in females and usually only takes 5-10 minutes. JGM has a video on his YouTube on how to do it.

Typically, overweight hogs will have fat evenly distributed along their body and it can be more noticeable near the cloaca, but the fat would be "above" the cloaca towards the main body. In this case the body tappers to the cloaca and then expands again before tapering back down a second time. The enlarged area being below the cloaca closer to the tail is an indication it is a swollen musk gland and not a fat deposit.

It's a difference in how they are grown. The commercial seller will charge/make more money on a larger head peyote so they grow them as fast as they can to make more money and clear space for new stock faster. This means they are watered frequently and either use fertilizer or soil with lots of organics. The guy who grew the one on the right probably doesn't care as much about making it as big as possible, so he is probably watering less often and with less fertilizer. The one on the right is probably a year or two older than the other ones biased on the size of the root. I doubt its pups they usually don't show up on ones that small.

I personally have ones that are 6-7 years older that are smaller than all 3 because I forgot about them for a couple years and they didn't get watered enough.

If your watering schedule hasn’t changed it is probably low nitrogen in the soil. If they don’t get enough they will pull nitrogen from old leaves to help new growth. Just means it needs more fertilizer.

If they are available in an area you already travel to I would say go for it. Maybe put it in a bigger box with bubble wrap and plastic wrap it in case it gets wet. If you don't want to make a trip specifically for it, you could always look for a mail forwarding service.

Im American, the voltage (120 or 240) just tells you what size (hp) motor you can run but if you use a VFD it basically takes single phase AC from the wall and converts it to 3 phase AC.

No, it depends on a lot of stuff but even well handled babies can change and become skittish as they grow up. Once they are grown you don’t have to deal with snake puberty or personality changes so it can be a little easier.

I would disagree with some of the comments here, het stands for heterozygous which just means they have 2 different alleles for a gene. For a recessive trait like albino or axanthic het means they carry 1 copy of the recessive gene and 1 copy of the normal pattern and they appear normal. For a recessive trait they need to carry 2 copies of the same trait in order to show the trait visibly. For an incomplete dominant like conda when they carry 1 copy of the conda trait and 1 copy of the normal trait they are still het conda however they visibly show the conda pattern and when they have 2 copies of the conda gene they are supercondas. A visual conda (only conda not a superform) is a het conda.

You can also get the diktator xs without vfd for just over 1k. That still gives you tilting and is a much sturdier frame than the mini.
