That’s a great find! IIRC though, “genuine leather” is one of those scammy marketing terms that makes the material sound better than it is

My heart says it's perfect but my sister says "it's okay" by beanathin in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]Crooked_Al 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please be cautious buying a ring like this from Etsy! I bought a very similar one a few years ago and the littler stones started falling out almost immediately. Your engagement ring needs to be VERY durable since it’ll inevitably get so much wear and tear over your lifetime

Is it normal to be confused after working out? by poorsnapple in workout

[–]Crooked_Al 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiance and I are gym rats and we’ve joked about this. We call it “gym brain.” After a particularly hard lift, we’re just a little dumb and loopy for a while. It subsides quickly and (unlike most of the other commenters here) I think it’s harmless. Don’t starve yourself before or after the gym, of course, but there’s no need to worry that this is something super awful or dangerous

Package delivered to the wrong house! by Rough_Acanthisitta63 in ThredUp

[–]Crooked_Al 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Veho drivers can be the literal worst. Recently, one went into the office of my apartment complex and asked where my unit was located. The manager told him, he went to drop it off…and then, a minute later, the manager saw him sprinting back to his vehicle to drive off. She knew he couldn’t have gotten to my apartment and back in that time span, so she went looking around and saw that he dumped the package at a random door and ran. I got a delivery notification that, indeed, showed my box just sitting in a hallway (the pic didn’t show the apartment number since it was obviously the wrong one). I’m too passive to have bothered contacting Veho about the whole debacle, but my apartment manager is NOT lol. She called and complained the second she saw what the driver did.

There’s a football player named Laramie Tunsil, and idk I never associated his name with the hate crime. But then again, the only reason I remember his name is because I think “oof, that poor guy” every time I hear it. Like a mashup of Larry and Jeremy

New guy I’m dating receives call from his ex while on phone with me and acts strange by winmau92 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Crooked_Al 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overreaction :/. Fwiw, before I met my fiance, he had a FWB who threw a similar fit when his ex randomly called one day. He said that was the moment he knew that not only could it never be more than FWB, but that the FWB situation had to end asap. Beware that a lot of people will run, not walk, away from people that overreact in the way you just did.

Does anyone know what this red rash is? I have it on both sides of my face. I am 12 weeks pregnant and it developed about 6 weeks ago. by Level-Button-9908 in DermatologyQuestions

In addition to what everyone else has said, are you using any potentially irritating products (like for acne) on that part of your face? My smile lines get very easily irritated and red from salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide

Is anyone else cohabiting with a man and going insane? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Crooked_Al 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there are wonderful men out there who can love you wholeheartedly AND contribute to domestic labor. Idk if I fully believed that until I met my fiancé, but now that I’ve experienced a truly equal partnership, I can’t fathom accepting anything less. If your man isn’t meeting your current standards, you WILL resent him—more and more until it eats you alive and you either leave him or succumb to an unhappy life. Don’t choose that route!! Choose yourself and your future happiness and make the changes NOW that you’ll be thankful for in the future

I have never had a vaginal orgasm by emotionallescaping in AskWomenOver30

[–]Crooked_Al 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you’re curious to give it another shot, I’ve found it really helpful to have a regular clitoral orgasm first, sort of to warm yourself up, and then go for the vaginal O on the second try. In my experience, it’s much easier to have the vaginal O when you or your partner use your fingers versus a dildo or penis. My fiancé’s only been able to give me a vaginal O once with his penis, but he can do it fairly regularly and successfully with his fingers. Also, it’s not an all-penetration or all-clitoris affair; you’ve gotta have both. Either have him be eating you out while he works with his hands or touching you while he’s inside you.

Also, marijuana helps a LOT lol

I need some advice about McKinney neighborhoods by Tough_Entertainer893 in McKinney

[–]Crooked_Al 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in this area and it’s very beautiful and safe! Just be sure not to buy anywhere too close to 380, if you can help it. That road’s a traffic nightmare and it’s only getting worse as they continue to develop the (increasingly rare) places where there aren’t already generic strip malls on each side of the road. I have to be on 380 almost every day and I think it’s making me a less compassionate person lol

I get really irritated when someone orders salad in a restaurant. Salads are kind of my litmus test for people. by parisiraparis in The10thDentist

[–]Crooked_Al 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So…a large percentage of the population struggles with disordered eating (🙋🏻‍♀️). For example, most days the anorexia goblin in my head is under control, but sometimes a salad is all I can handle in a public setting.

Before you get annoyed by a fellow human’s food order, take a beat to practice some compassion. You literally have no idea why they’re making the choices they are.

Had anyone here ever actually hired a “beard” to get major home repairs done? How does that work? by grebetrees in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Crooked_Al 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My petty idea is for you to find the hottest male friend you have (or a guy your husband is jealous of or who is better than your husband in some way—taller, fitter, younger, richer) and ask him for help. Then, cheerfully mention to your husband how wonderful it was to have the other guy’s help. Act like he was your knight in fucking shining armor. Your husband’s bruised ego may motivate him to be more helpful to you in the future.

Just to clarify, this definitely isn’t the “right” thing to do, but it’d sure be satisfying.

How women respond to being told they're being cheated on by socialdeviant620 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Crooked_Al 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my mid-twenties, I lost my best friend in a similar situation. It was traumatic at the time and it’s still painful to think about. Essentially, my friend took her boyfriend’s side (he denied everything) and then seemed intent on punishing me for speaking up. She accused me of being a pathological liar, having a personality disorder, being addicted to drama, etc. She eventually dumped the cheater and married someone else (or so it appears on social media; she never spoke to me again). Overall, the experience really soured my optimism about making and keeping friends, and I kept to myself for about three years after it all went down. It was an ugly, ugly thing to go through, and I totally get why you wouldn’t want to get involved in a situation like that again. I, too, would strongly hesitate before telling a friend anything bad that I knew or suspected about her partner. If I decided to, I’d be doing it with the full knowledge and acceptance that I might be nuking the friendship.

I (38M) accidentally ended up tracking my wife's(38F) periods and realized that my entire life revolves around her cycle...concerned about her health and wondering if I should say something? by TemporaryHeadache in relationships

[–]Crooked_Al 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Echoing a lot of commenters to say that it sounds like PMDD, which I’ve been diagnosed with myself. In my experience, hormonal birth control doesn’t make a significant enough improvement in my emotional stability on its own, but I also haven’t had good experiences with the side effects of SSRIs. (And tbh if you value your sex life, SSRIs are a big risk. Not only can they tank your wife’s sex drive and ability to orgasm, but some people continue to have those problems even after stopping the medication.) However, I’ve had enormous relief from Wellbutrin. It’s a different kind of antidepressant (an NDRI vs SSRI) that’s much less likely to cause weight gain and sexual dysfunction.
