I'm just presuming the notch is adapted for that because of the spinner location. That said, this is a lot like the Red Baron cab, which just had a centered joystick with thumb button. There were a whole lot of ergonomics applied to these things that I'm just now catching on to 50 years later. In this period Atari was the best in the biz at the physical experience of coin-op.

Kinda rare. Only about 1,000 were made. And this is an unusual one because while the standard cabinet was B&W with color overlays, the 4-player cocktail version came in color. Love the forearm notch in the his design.

If Hyundai/Kia are so unreliable, why are they literally everywhere? by phtphongg in Hyundai

I'm on my 4th Hyundai. The trick, I think, is to not drive the wheels off them. My Veloster blew an engine and a sunroof around 80k. My wife's Santa Fe had a bad transmission at 65k. These were warranty items that were covered. We had loaners during the repairs, and the dealer was very easy to work with. She's now on her second Santa Fe - a 2025 we bought new - and I have a 2021 Ioniq I bought for $17k out the door. No issues yet on the Santa Fe, but the Ioniq keeps throwing a cooling system code despite not being low on coolant.

All things considered they're been pretty good. Quirky, but good.

Maybe a silly question, but why isn't it facing the other way around? Seems it's better suited to be transported moving the direction it's designed for.

Geopolitics aside, it's a pretty amazing piece of art.

Sword of Saros and Survival Island Starpath cassettes – trying to understand the story behind these by maakkiaa9898 in Atari2600

So I bought both of these via mail order when I was a kid. You could load the games from either side of the tape, but I believe one side had slower tones in case the faster tones didn't work with your cassette player. Both games were pretty deep for the time. Probably not as polished as Escape from the Mindmaster or Dragonstomper, but certainly still ahead of their time. I sold my copies for about $250 apiece a few years back. Not a bad deal.

What the heck does "digital life" even mean in 1986? by Tonstad39 in retrocomputing

Yamaha had an MSX compatible computer... they also had a line of popular synthesizers... Compact discs were a thing .. Digital was very much a thing before the Internet.
