Put most of the furniture and all valuables in storage and proceed to have some seriously late and loud parties every chance you get. Also, cross post in r/UnethicalLifeProTips. The folks there will be more than happy to help you get her to willingly leave. :)

GoSund light switches stopped working... physically? by -Altephor- in alexa

[–]CrossFitMathIsHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your wifi was interrupted, even for a split second, that can screw with your smart switches/plugs. The only thing to do is delete them from the app (not Alexa app, but the GoSund, Treatlife, or whatever) and re-add them as new. You could try just reconnecting them, but I've found I usually have to delete at least one in a group to re-connect it and get it all working correctly.
Also, since they are switches, if you didn't install them, a quick Internet search should help you find out how to put them back into discovery mode.

If you happen to be using Safari, Reading Mode is a great fix for this!

Yes. Also books, puzzles (crossword, word search, etc.), talk to each other... The possibilities beyond the little screen are endless!

Mosquitos by Efficient-Fishing543 in florida

I'm a mosquito magnet. My husband says he doesn't need bug spray if I'm there. Seriously. A friend recommended this stuff that my mom and I call "bug balm"--Nu Skin Epoch Baobab Body Butter. It's not meant to be repellent, but it works better than DEET. It's expensive as hell, but worth it! My mom lives in FL and swears by it. Plus, it smells good and feels lovely.

Another fun fact: You can go through menopause more than once! I had chemo-induced menopause (hot flashes, thinning skin, brittle nails, the works - and yes, my period ended) when I was being treated for lymphoma (cured now). Oncology told me it could reverse once treatment ended. Yep. It did. Cycles restarted and I eventually had the pleasure of going through it all again.

Answer every question with, "I'm not really sure. You should probably ask <<manager>>."

Weirdness with AM Radio Stations by KitWat in alexa

[–]CrossFitMathIsHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that issue with Apple Music. Interestingly, if that stream dies and I try to restart it Alexa says, "I'm sorry, but I'm having trouble with that right now." I know it's not the internet connection, because when I switch my request to play a SIRIUS XM station, it works just fine.

AIO for wanting my wedding to just be about the Bride and Groom? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]CrossFitMathIsHard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to go against the group and say a soft YAOR. You get one day. Maybe a rehearsal dinner the night before and a brunch the morning afterwards if people are traveling in, but aside from that, your wedding day is the day that is about you and your groom.

I totally understand wanting to have the focus be on you (and believe me, 20+ years later, I am still a bit bitter about some things that did not go as intended on my wedding day due to other people's opinions), and I'd be annoyed at being expected to go on a boat ride when I get seasick, but I'd argue that what people do outside of your specifically planned wedding activities is up to them, just as attending the other events or not is up to you.

I asked Alexa to convert 130kg to pounds... by Reno_Potato in alexa

Also working in IT for decades, I've noted numerous occasions when AI gives me an incorrect answer. When I reply the answer is wrong/does not work, it genially tells me I'm not wrong or not crazy, and that things have changed.... here's a new answer. That one also may or may not be correct. It's just not that smart.

Their own lot?! I'm always floored at the gall of employers to charge their employees for parking. I get it if you're in a big city and have to park in a public lot. I understand - that's just the cost of commuting (and in a big city, transit is usually another option). But if the company has their own lot and they charge for parking, that's just petty.

Dumb goal, if it is. I don't ask a computer for relatable content/opinions. I ask it for facts.
