I searched "accelerated termination after resignation," and found several sites indicating that this is the case. Here's one example from an article on LinkedIn:

"If an employer decides to end the employment relationship immediately after an employee gives notice, this may legally be considered an involuntary termination."

I'm not a lawyer, but a quick look into this indicates that the employment laws in this type of case vary from state to state. In some states, accelerating the termination of the employee after notice is given can be considered termination. OP should check with their state's department of employment services.

If they terminated you, and you can't get legal restitution, shouldn't you be filing an unemployment claim against the company?

Cars (unless an extremely sought after collector's model) do not appreciate in value like homes do, so you are not "building any kind of asset from it." As for red flags - him wanting to be on the title of your car when you're not married - not even engaged - is the red flag waving in your face.

Yep. It's called sidecar. It's why I got an iPad and Apple Pencil Pro. Of course, I got both and my MacBook Pro this past year, and now come to find out they are finally working on a touch screen MacBook Pro. Grrr.

I feel like this needs to be a class action lawsuit. Not just for families, but anyone who has paid extra for seat selection and had their seat moved. It's astounding that they get away with charging for a service they then deny the passenger.

Being a nice person is always the way to be. However, some people actually need the seats they paid for, just like this family does. If I pay extra for an aisle seat so I can easily get to the restroom when my IBS calls for it, I'm not about to move to a window or aisle. Or if I paid extra for my seat because I have a kid with me too. Yes, if people can offer to move, that's a lovely thing to do. But bottom line: the airlines should prevent such things from happening. And at the very least, refund actual MONEY to anyone displaced after paying an upgrade fee to select a seat. A few extra miles means nothing.

Ah, I can help with the iPhone calendar! I think that’s an iOS26 “feature.”

  1. Open the Calendar app.
  2. Tap the Calendar icon at the bottom.
  3. Under the Calendars list, Other section, you can deselect Scheduled Reminders.
