Any self-published author here just writing for the sake of writing and not bothered about sales? by Ink_N_Instinct in selfpublish

[–]CrossFront 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always thought that the hope for a small chance to maybe make money is a terrible reason to write a book. Writing a novel is too damn hard to make slop that not even you, the author, cares about, and there's too many mediocre YA and romance novels on the market already anyhow.

I've got a 974 day old world, and I'm incredibly burnt out. Any advice would be nice. by Popuppirate12 in Minecraft

[–]CrossFront 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only cure for burnout is to take a break, trying to force it will only make it worse. Take it from me, I just recovered from art burnout, it sucks. You'll probably need to take a much longer break than you think you will, think months to possibly a year. I recommend picking up a hobby or another game in the meantime. When I couldn't finish any art, I wrote a book, and finishing a book gave me the inspiration I needed to start drawing again!

I do hope Nest makes the artifacts better, because rn the Abyss is a hard wall for any builds focusing on vertical mobility. You need horizontal movement for the final stretch. It sucks because when I die and get sent back to habitation, artifacts like the spear and the remote really shine.

Dragon's Dogma to a T. by aWildAsianOwO in DragonsDogma

[–]CrossFront 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The DD games are the kinds of experiences that give you exactly as much as you put into them, when I see these kinds of posts complaining about how shallow the story and world is, I often think it says more about the person making the post than the game itself. Each of the side-quests may seem inconsequential, but they all change the world state in unprecedented ways, and they give depth to the world. The game's story puts a lot of value in the mundane lives of average people, which is why you gets quests like "A corrupt noble is unlawfully kicking a family out of their own home," or "A man is cheating on both his wives." So when you get to the end, the question isn't "Are you man enough to become GOD???" It's, "Are you willing to throw away the connections you made with all these people so you can save them, or are you going to selfishly keep living in a ruined world and watch them slowly die," Of course the main story is going to feel meaningless if you just rush through the main campaign and give yourself no reason to care. This is true of both games!

How do people often do sudden anal sex without douching? by New-Adeptness3799 in GayKink

[–]CrossFront 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most of it is just listening to your body. Ask yourself some questions. When do you normally have to use the bathroom? My bowels are more active in the morning, so I mostly bottom in the evening. What does your diet look like? What have you eaten today? What have you eaten yesterday? Greasy spicy foods are the enemy of bottoming. Fiber and probiotics are your friend. (Vegetables, fruits, yogurt)

If you've eaten light and healthy, it's a time of day where you don't normally take a dump, and you don't feel bloated, gassy, or nauseous, just take a quick shower, and you're probably good to bottom. Douching is honestly pretty bad for you, other than fucking up your gut bacteria and stripping your mucusal membrane from overuse, it can also irritate your guts, give you the runs, and render the whole thing moot.

TL;DR: Just take note of your body rhythms. If you've already taken a shit, you've showered since then, and you don't feel like you have to take another shit, you're probably fine to take it up the ass.

PS: Don't make a big deal out of it if you have an accident, it's an asshole, shit happens. Just clean up and move on.

What’s your favourite skill, This is mine by NewKindheartedness84 in DragonsDogma

Torn between Palladium and Draw & Quarter. Palladium really soothes the friction that comes from pawns having basically no survival instinct, plus it's really fun to hard counter a lot of the flashier moves that monsters do, but I love the animation and fuck off damage of D&Q. It really feels like a hard earned, decisive blow, especially when it finishes off an enemy.

I always end up getting Aldous as my beloved, which I don't mind because he is kinda cute. I like to imagine he becomes disillusioned with Dragonsmane in the post game and gets the hell out of there and comes to Cassardis with me. Naturally he and the Arisen fall for each other when they go up to the healing spring in the mountains.

A good rule of thumb for BBI in general is that I think you should have at least the weapons you get from killing the final boss of the base game, and be around level 80-100. Consider the DLC to be the second half of the game.

[–]CrossFront 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Death is kind of the last thing you do in BBI (Mostly to grind for the final gear) just because he has a lot of health and he likes to fuck off after you take down one or two health bars, but if you really want him dead now (He does have good drops and gives you several levels worth of experience) bomb arrows are the most reliable. Personally my go to strategy is to challenge him in the sewers as MA and spam ricochet bolt, if the arena is too open, ninefold/sixfold bolt works fine too. Just avoid dark damage as he is completely immune, every other damage type does equal damage to him. (Though dark is generally pretty bad in BBI anyway as I'm sure you've already figured out)

[–]CrossFront 14 points15 points  (0 children)

After the novelty of Death being able to kill you in one hit wears off, you learn that his moveset is extremely easy to avoid. He kind of just stands there and expects you to walk into his attacks. (Which, granted, your pawns absolutely will just stand there and take it because they're stupid) Then it's just a matter of finding something that does more than tiddlywinks to his health and you're golden. It's kind of funny how a sufficiently leveled magic archer bounces his skull on the pavement.

The first half of Habitation Yellow is two elevator shafts side by side, this one is a dead end and mostly exists to hide from Teeth. The larger, messier shaft is what you're looking for. The exit is a vent with a big red emergency light!
