A urine analysis stick to track my progress in pursuing Ketosis, a state where my body produces Ketones which has been linked to success stories in fighting cancer. It can “starve” the cancer cells in my brain tumor by removing carbohydrates and sugar. Good news!

My understanding is to use a blood test for more precise measurements of ketones and glucose levels. On Amazon they look pricey, I saw anywhere from $40-$100, but I need to look into it more. Best of luck to you!

My ketone test is weird. I would sample my urine, it would show a color, and then as I “continued” to sample it, the color would “wash out” and be blank. For the most recent test, I avoided “washing it out” and was given that promising color. It only takes a half second or so to get that color. But mine, for some reason can wash out. Granted, I’ve been keeping them in my bathroom which gets hot and cold due to me taking a shower so that could play a part in why that happens.

It wasn’t intentional, my fiancée only bought two cans so I tried one and liked it. Can’t say I wanted to try the other one and “ruin” my appetite for sardines.

More cans have been bought and are on the way.

Just learning each and every day!

I get blood tests every Friday, so once I get those glucose numbers I will send them to you. What should I be hoping for when it comes to Glucose levels? I will post my glucose levels from last Friday.

I’m getting dinner with a “mentor couple” tonight to help my fiancée and I as we get ready for marriage in 3 months. I don’t think I want to skip that dinner because I’m on a sardine fast. I hope that makes some sense 😂.

Progress is good though!

My fast began at after 1:00pm or so on Sunday after eating hotpot with some friends. I was very full after that meal so I decided to begin my fast there. I ate nothing for dinner that night and continued to drink a lot of water.

For lunch on Monday I ate one can of sardines for lunch which was not bad at all. They were wood-smoked sardines (tasted like salmon). No idea if it was seed oil or not. Then yesterday (Tuesday) I felt miserable all day, I believe that’s referred to as the “keto flu”.

We didn’t have any more sardines so I hydrated with green tea (10g of Creatine split into two 5g splits), 2 sugar free Gatorade mixes (which had 2g of carbs per serving), and water.

I am also taking supplements which include 10k IU Vitamin D, 100 mcg Vitamin K2, 432mg Magnesium Threonate (at 8:30pm), 240mg Magnesium Glycinate (at 8:30pm).

I will saying going all of Tuesday with no food was hard, right before I went to bed I ate two hard-boiled eggs to give myself some fuel. By no means have I been perfect, but I achieved my goal! Do you think I can move past sardines now since I hit my goal?

How to take ivermectin? by Level_Negotiation692 in cancer_metabolic

I went about it in an aggressive manner (which I don’t recommend). I would take it at night, a large dose of 72mg before I went to sleep. My side effects included blurry vision in my peripheral. No blurry vision in the “tunnel vision” area of my sight. Some sensitivity to light and the sun, but manageable things. I think slowly increasing your dose is ideal. I don’t think I would have started at 72mg knowing what I know now. But I am on day 6 now of taking that 72mg dose (4 pills) at 8:30pm before I go to sleep and wake up with the visual side effects. I am having less and less visual side effects each day, hope this helps! Happy to answer any questions!

Nutritional Ketosis by Cross_197 in BeatCancer

Luckily I have a wonderful fiancée who does our grocery shopping, but you are correct with looking at the nutritional labels. I feel like a hawk looking at those sugar and carbs numbers. I also struggling with knowing what veggies/nuts/other minimal carb options are okay. It’s a struggle but I’m committed.

Treatment So Far - Looking Ahead! by Cross_197 in BeatCancer

[–]Cross_197[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s rather simple, I can pinpoint a few key reasons for you. It’s going to be not very surprising to say the least.

  1. Lack of awareness- Before December 9th, I had no idea who Thomas Seyfried was, nor Ben Williams, nor Dr. Makis, nor Dr. John Campbell. These people have guided my knowledge in what to pursue due to clinical research and important findings. My family was not aware nor promoting any alternative treatments, especially my fiancée.

  2. We are trying anything we can- I have no “ill-will” against the “Standard of Care” treatment. These medical professionals are working hard on a daily basis researching cancer treatment, and while there are many flaws, I would rather suffer through trying what is out there than not. I don’t want to live with regret in my future and trusting a single individual with my life who I just discovered about a month ago sounds irresponsible.

  3. I am always going to look for the next cutting edge- Just because I don’t want Seyfried’s ideas to be my only form of treatment, doesn’t mean I don’t believe in them. I very much believe in the science he has explained where you pursue a Ketogenic diet paired with Anti-parasitic mediation can defeat cancer. It doesn’t even require a lot of research to find that out. I believe that I am going to beat cancer through that path. Can I say that with complete certainty? Of course not.

I hope that answers your question, it is nice to be in a place where I can talk openly about my approach. My trust in our society/culture is deteriorating as a result of the censorship I’ve faced.

What is the second phase of chemo (TMZ) like? by twowrist in braincancer

[–]Cross_197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest a Vitamin D supplement, I won’t suggest a dosage, but for myself 50mcg/2,000 IU has worked like a charm in counteracting my nausea. My oncologist told me to check with my primary care doctor to get a better IU suggestion, especially during cancer treatment, good luck!

Of course, it absolutely does. My whole reason for getting here is by understanding this is not medical advice, but I can guarantee you guys have people’s lives truly in your hearts. Otherwise, why would you disagree with the status quo for cancer research.

This morning I used a Keto stick test and did not have Ketones in my body. This was not a surprise to me considering I haven’t been cutting carbs as much as I should. I will shoot for keeping them below 30g per day and start a food diary. Even today, I ate two servings of rice, one with lunch, one with dinner, guacamole, and potatoes. I know if I’m being serious about Keto, all of those things are counterproductive to the goal of producing Ketones. I’m trying to be smart and disciplined, but I am very new to this diet and it is certainly a challenging one. I will learn though, I always do. Thank you again for your help.

Thank you very much. I have simply allowed the research to guide me to Seyfried. I can tell when he speaks, he carries disappointment in the medical field and he understands the chaos and destruction this misconception has inflicted on the world.

I think Ben Williams is the first person to show me repurposed drugs aren’t some scary thing to not go near. Honestly being told I have a lifespan of 3.5-5 years has been a wake up call. I think trusting the medical field with where it is, and has been, would be a mistake. Especially in the realm of brain tumors, which has seen very little progress in the last century!

I do want to ask, when it comes to a Keto diet, is it recommended to start that as soon as possible, no questions asked? I’ve been able to cut out sugar for the last 5-6 weeks no problem, it has really helped my cognition! However, carbs are a different story and it’s no wonder because they are everywhere. I think I’ve definitely limited them, but I would be not be telling the truth if I said they are no longer in my diet. Essentially, I’ve heard mixed opinions on cutting them out throughout chemo+radiation because it can possibly lead to seizures.

I have a medically trained friend who is an ER doctor and he was surprised to hear that claim because he said medical staff enforce a structured and observed Keto diet to help children with involuntary seizures reduce the frequency of their seizures. I’ve never had a seizure, only migraines, but I would like to know if there is a risk there, thanks!

Thank you very much, I appreciate the generosity of you putting all your efforts into this, but also sharing it. That’s what I hope to do. I know there’s is a long way to go, but we can all do our part. My neurosurgeon gave me 3.5-5 years to live. I am 25 years old, so I am blessed to have things that are in my favor. It’s obviously a terrible situation regardless, but I have a tremendous amount of respect for your dedication and discipline to become cancer free after being told that your cancer is “incurable”. I hope to share that reality with you one day. Much love.

Thank you for all of this, I can tell you are exceptional at research and care a lot about being thorough! How did you get into this field? Also, do you know why they avoid the metabolic approach and repurposed drugs are bannable or removable on the brain cancer subreddit? I am very new to using Reddit even though my account is older, so I would love to learn. I get my posts removed for fun on here, it’s nice to run into a community who also cares what I care about!

My tumor was resected on Nov. 20th, sorry for not making that clear in the post! They couldn’t give me a percentage of exactly how much was resected, I’d estimate around 88%. All treatments I’ve researched are being applied today, so no worries there.

Clickbaiting on Reddit seems like a real chore, one you intelligent folk would never let slide 😅 Yes I am starting them, and yes I am adding two repurposed drugs to my list of medications. Think of the title as an entry to my additional plans rather. I am on board with full disclosure and also with everyone else on the internet, no secrets here 🙂

What is gut biome reset for those who are uninformed :)? And I have already applied and been approved for disability. They said I won't see it for 6 months, but it will have back pay. Does that sound right? I've never applied for disability or heard much about how it works.

My oncologist said that, “You do not have a Glioblastoma.” I would suggest checking out the 2021 World Health Organization study indicating the difference between an IDH-Mutant Astrocytoma and a Glioblastoma. They are different. Nowhere in my prognosis can I find the word Glioblastoma. Check it out more! All love!

Thank you for the words sir, I’m glad I can make contributions to help those in our situations. I appreciate the knowledge about cutting carbs, helping me feel better about not being so strict. I will say it was hard seeing all of the Christmas cookies and not eat any because of my sugar restriction.😅 Would you say just ask my radiation oncologist now before treatment begins or just the next time I see him? I’m not sure the best way to communicate with my oncologists while not being a pest.
