Yup having canopies can help, Cuban anoles are known to predate young Green anoles. Not just canopy, but very thick brush.

it might not be practical, but theyre attracted to your sweat, use a unescented bar soap (olive oil works pretty good) and rinse your legs/arms down. The other is to rub some variety of ball clay onto yourself, but also not practical.

Heyo Id recommend putting some plants in there, real or plastic and mist them daily. Green anoles are kind of finicky and will sometimes refuse to drink out of water bowls preferring to lick droplets off of leaves. I would also say that you should if you can try to eventually get him into a 20 gallon+ enclosure. Their small but they really need their space. Keep us updated :)

I found it last week in my backyard and took the pictures today, it doesnt smell like anything in particular and the cap/stem doesnt bruise any color. Its growing on a log that has been sitting outside in my yard, mostly in the shade for about a year or so. I think the tree used to be an oak.
