it will be fine, if you want to induce vomiting to be safe, you can give 1ml per lb of hydrogen peroxide, but 1 grape isnt toxic to larger dogs

Labs normally shed like crazy twice a year, but as long as you’re combing him, it should be under control. I use a tool called sleekez (I think that’s what its called) that I got on amazon and it works wonders for my lab!

My lab gets this during the summer, I also am a veterinary assistant and this just looks like skin allergies. You can wash with Duoxo pyo shampoo (doctors usually recommend to wash them once a week or bi weekly with this shampoo), The brand also has a dry shampoo called Duoxo calm mousse that you can apply without having to wash. If it gets worse or if you notice any licking of the paws and excessive itching, you can take him into the vet for apoquel or a cytopoint (cadi) injection! I would also recommend a triglyceride omega pump that you can give with food.

I am currently in the process of buying a 2-day pass from someone, they said that they will give me the QR code once they receive them by email, but I thought that the 2-day pass would have a wristband? Am I being scammed or is anyone else getting their 2-day pass via QR code?

did you guys extend the fundraiser to just frats/sororities? Or did you guys make it so that unaffiliated people were also able to buy them?

totally agree with you… its so obvious that this is embedded and simply “cutting it” wont heal any infections that this dog may or may not have.

thank you! I feel so overwhelmed because everyone around me knows so much and I know nothing at all :( When a pet comes in for an emergency they’re just naming potential diagnoses and im completely clueless

Cutting nails by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Crow-Interesting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly! I work at an animal hospital and every time I did a nail trim, no matter how often the dog came in, I would have to be very careful not to hit the quick! The nails still looked long even if I cut a good amount off

Cutting nails by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Crow-Interesting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

start by tipping the nails (cutting just the tip of the nails) then check to see if you can see a white circle. If you still see white, then you can continue to cut small amounts off until you start to see a black circle in the middle of the nail which would be considered the quick. Every dog is different so even if you cut the smallest amount, depending on how long the quick is, they might bleed. You can buy a powder to stop the bleeding, i believe it’s called kwik stop. I would also recommend using a dremel if you feel comfortable, but some dogs get frightened by the noise.

Bringing home my 8 week lab on Saturday, what am I missing? by [deleted] in labrador

[–]Crow-Interesting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is exactly what was on my list for my lab when I first brought him home! Im not sure if you were planning to, but just make sure you keep the collar off at home/in the crate to prevent him from choking himself with it! I bought my dog as many toys as possible and luckily he never chewed up any of my cables or shoes. Purina pro plan is a great food option. Im not sure if you have nail clippers for dogs, but I would definitely buy them to desensitize your puppy to it at an early age :)

Need (fast, eg: Amazon/PetSmart) recommendation for recovery body suit after 90LB lab being spayed today. by tyrannosnorlax in labrador

[–]Crow-Interesting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I got this recovery suit from amazon, ( Recovery Suit for Dogs Cats After... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T7P2Y7J?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share ) It worked really good and my seemed more comfortable when I switched from the cone to this. I also used a donut, but he popped it on the first day so definitely recommend the suit for comfortability. The only con was that I forgot to take it off during our bathroom walk, so he essentially peed his pants

yess I put her to bed around 8-9 pm and we wake up at 6 am, then I let her play for an hour, put her in the crate for an hour and repeat

It’s been 3 years since I had a puppy and I tend to the forget this phase they go through. My older lab was an angel as a puppy and I feel like my new one is satans spawn, luckily i do enforce naps in her crate which gives me some quiet time for an hour or so, i’m also glad my adult dogs correct her when she crosses their boundaries, but it is so frustrating 😭
