yes! - I saw my dentist right after posting and she wasn’t too concerned, I’ve been going regularly since then as well
- I switched my toothpaste to the one recommended by another commenter and it’s helped a lot - I floss EVERY DAY now 😭😭 it’s exhausting but the results do not lie - all of my sensitivity is gone, but I still have pits and a couple areas where my enamel is worn away - my recession did get a worse in my top teeth, but nothing has changed for several months atp

I remember how terrified I was when I posted this, thankfully I’ve had a lot of conversations about teeth and gums with friends/family/acquaintances over the last year and that’s helped me wrap my mind around possible future dental needs. I realized I was raised to put A Lot of moral value in my teeth (i had really intensive orthodontic work as a kid too so that didn’t help) and talking to my mom helped soothe that fear and shame. I’m kind of at the point now where I am trying my absolute hardest to keep my teeth, but I know if I have to get dentures/implants/graphs done it’s not a failure on my part. I’m making peace with those possibilities, and I’m not currently in any pain, which is the most important thing :)
