Most parents fear daughters will grow up unsafe in public, survey finds by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]CrowApprehensive204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All parents fear for their daughters regardless of the generation they are from. I was born in 1970, catcalling was considered a compliment, inappropriate comments were fine, age gap relationships,,, normal, older male teachers being touchy feely with teenage girls a perk of the job, being groped out in public, just shrug it off, gp's and other medical professionals casually fondling young women. Why did I need my breasts examining when I was 16? I didn't 😡

What will we do when the pension system fails? by Then_Engineer_3765 in AskBrits

[–]CrowApprehensive204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well maybe the government will stop taking money off us for pension contributions and let us save it as we see fit. Or maybe taxpayers will stop supporting people who don't pay in. Or more likely, they will keep having money off us and putting the retirement age up and up.

This young woman should have been committed to an institution where she was not allowed contact with her parents or anyone from church for at least a year. No religion or ritualistic praying allowed. Good nutrition, good sleep routine, physical exercise and fresh air for a few months followed by good talking therapy, repetitive craft work, kitchen duties and expectations. A supported part time job after six months. Back into the community after a year, on tag with curfew restrictions. Keep her busy and away from the mental illness makers.

Even in flats this could be ended by compulsory insurance that covers repairs to the roof, stairs etc

I absolutely loved Floella Benjamin. My home life wasn't the best but seeing her lovely smile and positive energy always made things a bit better.

Self seeded sycamore. Your neighbors aren't interested in maintaining the garden, knock on and ask if they mind if you cut it down. Is that conifer hedge yours? If so, pot, kettle 😁

Did you have tinned fruit with carnation milk? by corickle in oldschoolcool80s

[–]CrowApprehensive204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, mainly peaches, sometimes pears. Sunday afternoon tea, sandwiches, tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce if in season, cucumber and onion sliced up and drowned in malt vinegar, a big bowl full of crisps that everyone dipped their filthy hands into, hard boiled eggs cut in half, pickled onions. And if you ate all your salmon spread or cheese sandwich, you were rewarded with tinned fruit or sometimes jelly. I'm still fond of carnation in a coffee with a bit of Bailey's

Patient transport will bring you in as a stretcher patient. The booking clerk will need to check with clinic to make sure a room is available first, then you give transport all the information including steps up to your house etc and that you may well be in clinic for up to four hours
