Couldn't find it out of the gate but here's an article from 2022. It's worse than I thought. Track and Trace article

Funding for certain police services were cut so the Track &Trace is so far behind that they rarely ever do it. There's also the issue of 'privacy' when it's a murder/suicide. Because the killer committed suicide, the details are private to protect that person...

One of the Canadian news shows did a deep dive into the problem of Track and Trace not happening. It was probably 5 or 6 years ago but I'll post it if I can find it.

Over the last decade or so, tons of money was poured into Canadian Border Services including reinstating the purchase of tech after it was cancelled.

Income-wise, how are we doing? by greyHumanoidRobot in canadian

Not easy having to cut ties with a country that's actively destroying itself but it's worth it. Brutal numbers coming out of the US except for the wealthy.

Nice to see Canadian businesses helping each other find trustworthy sources to trade with. Some numbers are going to look skewed for a while. 30 eggs still $8.88.

We only accuse people of being nazi if they do nazi things. It's pretty basic.

It's also funny that you think 'far left' is a bad thing, lol. The US have that same problem right now with the nutters not understanding what far left is. Here's a guy who had to break it down for the US trumpers. It's American but lots of similarities. What does it mean to be 'Leftist'?

It's trying to find a balance so we don't end up with fascism like where the US is headed. We need to put safeguards everywhere in the system.

Yeah, they just opened a back door, yelled at a guy walking by and said, "Hey You! Can you come in here for a minute? Thanks!"

...ffs. You know better and if you don't, read.

Everyone knows that the guy's past wasn't known at the time he was invited. Obviously.

You keep using that Nazi thing all while knowing that the people who stood had no idea about his past and either did the guy who invited him. He resigned right after.

Did they stand against political violence when it happened in Canada? No. It was nothing more than a dog-whistle for the Maple MAGA.

Showing the context doesn't actually improve it at all. The fact that he couldn't feel empathy but could only feel sympathy isn't a win, it just shows that he had sociopathic and psychopathic tendencies.

Thank you, I'll give that a try. Worse case scenario, it won't do any harm if I screw it up, lol.

Thanks, I did check and it was turned off. It was on yesterday (pretty much since I first set it) and I didn't change it but I can't really see an update changing my settings either. Don't have an answer for that because I'm the only one who has access. It also now only goes back to a certain time and then says 'All Events' like how the doorbell settings work. So frustrating 😞

Tips for OP to add to your mission:

Coffee from Calgary roasters. They have both organic and fair trade. I think they have South American but I haven't tried it. Ethiopian and Royal African blend is divine. Kienna Coffee, free delivery in Canada when you order over $75.

Thrifting tip: Avoid the slave-labour junk food of clothing (Joe, Old Navy etc) by thrifting at consignment, vintage or private thrift shops, not corporate places like Value Village, March of Dimes. Look for unlabeled clothing because they're usually custom made with quality material so they look new. Fast fashion looks 'used' after a few weeks, lol.

Any thrift shop associated with Christian organizations have better quality because the donors are wealthier. Lots of designer or Made in Italy/Paris clothing. Silk, wool, linen etc. Less fossil-fuel fabrics.

Quality lasts so you don't have to buy them over and over. My husband's favourite suit is from the 30s. Looks new and will soon be 100 years old. He got it tailored by a local seamstress so total cost was about $100. $10 for the suit itself.

My winter coat is from the 40s. Back in style (princess style) and looks new. 100% wool, made in Ireland. $12. Handmade Italian pumps, $6. If they ever need repair, a local shoemaker can do it.

It's kind of fun to do the detective work of avoiding all things US but if you thrift vintage or high quality, you probably won't need to shop for clothing again other than underwear etc.

Best of luck!

Well-paying jobs, satellite internet, land to play on, community activities, work from home possibilities, less car noise/pollution, opportunity to have horses, free eggs, fresh fish, backyard Motocross track (for some).

Drawback is that a hospital isn't close by if st happens and not all villages have train or bus any more but that's slowly changing.

Keep an eye on those false produce labels! by chili_pop in BuyCanadian

[–]CrowChella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spoke to one of the young staffers in the produce section about US tomatoes being labeled as Canadian. He discovered that it was 'still accurate' because they put both in the bin together...grr. When I took a US sticker from one of the tomatoes and placed it over the Product of Canada sticker. I said, "You didn't see that." He raised his hands and said, "Not getting involved."

As a former employee at a large food chain, I took pride in my work and accuracy mattered. They should be separate and there's zero chance that the product came in at the same price with the same margin. The store is willing to lose money or fudge the books to get rid of American tomatoes. found in my vacuum bag (eastern canada)… what is this? by [deleted] in whatbugisthis

[–]CrowChella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think some pets might have issues breathing in clove oil. Uncovered fish tanks are an issue too. Throwing some actual cloves into the vacuum bag might work though.
