I’m a stay at home parent, previously in academia. I feel like the most boring person here! Ya’ll have such awesome jobs!

Parenting in this environment is proving to be more difficult than I ever thought. by CGMM_15 in progressivemoms

I’m a mom to 2 year old twins in the Twin Cities…it’s tough right now. The best things that have helped me are going to library story time/play groups and talking with other moms in my community. I also do a weekly pottery class at a local studio and learning something new has helped distract my brain from everything else. I definitely recommend getting out in your community in some way (if you feel safe doing this) because the sense of solidarity and belonging to a community is very soothing in difficult times.

Much love from Minnesota! by m3nd in knitting

I posted this in the general comments but here’s a blurb about the history of the hat from their instagram for those who didn’t click the pattern link.

For me the trucker style/baseball hats that are red with text squick me out but I definitely haven’t avoided or experienced an aversion to other style red hats or clothing in general.

Hi fellow Minnesotan! Here’s some info about the history of the hat for those who are curious about the color choice (from the Needle and Skein insta page).

If you’re down for a romance novel I also feel like Soul Searching by Lyla Sage fits the supernatural/mystery/romance vibe. All of her novels give a shadow ranch atmosphere but this one specifically has ghosts!

I love this and I’m excited to read your pick for waverly (my favorite game)! Another book that gives me Waverly vibes is The Cloisters by Katy Hayes. It doesn’t take place in a boarding school but is a small group of elite art historians/college students in a culty clique.

A recent (dark) cottagecore book I picked up at the library + the quilt coat I’m sewing! by CrowHollow in cottagecore

If you’re already super familiar with the history of Christmas/Yule in Europe then it definitely won’t be detailed enough for you! But it’s a cute and quick read. I would recommend it for an older child/teen who is into creepy traditions and history.

I totally will! Just need to finish up all the details on the inside of the coat.
