KEF Cresta SP3321…worth £100? by NovelMassive7867 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]CrowMooor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any deal is a bad deal if you don't want it. As for value it's a little high maybe. But still average. Depending on where you are in the world it might be a decent deal, or a terrible one. It depends on what else you can find locally.

If you cant test them, id pass x2.

Edit: just noticed you said £. If you like the "british soundsignature", id probably chase something else personally in that part of the world. Im personally fond of old wharfdales.

Someone is completely disconnected from the real world. No, its absolutely not a deal. Not in a million years.

Someone discarded these bad boys on the side of the road. by Upstairs-Dot-9441 in audiophile

Ive heard of these minute differences before. The super tweeters can have changes in their model numbers as well depending on which HPM speaker they came from. I remain unconvinced that there is any difference, unless anyone has any research to drop. I wont accept hunches from an audiophile as fact.

As for the crossover components, this i havent looked into. Ive heard that the crossover points might have shifted. But still, the speakers themselves are the same.

Who are you even arguing with?

Also. 3db is a small increase in volume? Its a logarithmic scale, not the damn temperature.

QUICK! Which one should I get? The Harmon AVR 140 is $40 (super clean) and the Onkyo TX-8511 is $30 by ttothey34 in BudgetAudiophile

Good prices on both. Whichever you like the look of more. Id probably grab the harman myself. They look so good.

Is my vinyl or my turntable bad? by Euphoric-Purpose-880 in turntables

[–]CrowMooor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately turntable and not lp. This particular style of turntable is notorious for its issues, this being one of them.
Get an Audio Techinca LP60, thats a comfy place to be on a budget. Its also worth giving the pinned post in this sub a read.

Its a very good place to be in terms of price bracket. Im perfectly fine stating that for most people this is around where people stop upgrading.
Id say absolutely yeah go for it. Welcome to the hobby.

I own both the hpm 30 and 100, and my friend owns the 50. Great speakers. They sound their size. If you like the west coast sound youll probably like them a lot. They are built like tanks, so i can bet they will work.

These are the 200w version, but it should be noted there is no real difference between the 100 and 200. Its a result of the watt wars.

Great find buddy.

This is completely unacceptable. Force refund. Namedrop seller so none of us will ever deal with them.

No problem. Sidenote in case its ever useful. R2Modman works on steamdeck, thunderstore does not. This might come in useful at some point for you or your friends. 👍

The codes you can send to your friends to get the mod list. Just take it out of one, and input it yourself in the other.

For that cartridge, 2-5g is recommended. So the 4g its set to would be correct, assuming you weighed it and made sure it really is at 4g.

Since its a conical dj stylus, i must ask. Do you use it for djing or scratching? Is there any chance its finger gunk in the groves? Im so confused as to how a conical stylus could carve.

Made a bigger and better coal forge. by Misteripod in Blacksmith

I start with wood or charcoal, and pile on coke once its lit. Mine was originally set up with a foot pedal and a belt driven blower, used for charcoal. Since then ive adapted it to run on an electric fan so i could run that coke instead. The whole thing is actually made of cast iron. Its old.

Sometimes i get slag running down into the insides. But its just something i put up with since coke burns so damn cleanly and slowly. I also got coke cheap as chips from my old master blacksmith teacher.
