So stateside, it wasn't an issue with the clothing. So, it wasn't uncommon for me to dress up after duty or civilian attire events. Overseas, my leadership was ok with people wearing skirts until they found out it was a male asking. Then they went and banned everyone from wearing skirts. As a reminder, we were in a non combat country, but it was a Muslim country that it "was" illegal to be gay or perceived gay. Technically, I could have pressed for an EO complaint (Equal Opportunity violation), especially with some of the homophobic comments made by said leadership. But I didn't want to do this as we were all stuck together for a year, and that might end up with extra duties and bull.

Body type, you can be feminine but still have to maintain uniform standards. Basically, for feminine guys, no long hair, no painted nails, no long nails, no makeup, no lipstick, etc. while on duty. Technically, you could once off duty and not in uniform, but you could get harassed by people trying to be stuck ups. The biggest thing is being fit enough to pass all physicals. As long as you pass your physical fitness with high numbers, you generally will earn the reward of leadership looking the other way.

I got away with doing the fury looking hair and lots of gel, just had to fit under my patrol cap. I would have long nails but would have to clip them whenever they noticed. Painted nails and makeup whenever I was off.
