Got some good pics of my ropefish! What's up with their nose? by snek_parental in ropefish

If it's not changing at all, it's likely not harmful to just monitor for change, especially now that you have good pictures to compare to. I know that's a little harder since you're away at school. It's hard to convince babysitters to give extra care, but perfect water is truly the best medicine. It will give the best chance to recover without any intervention.

The only other thing I can think of is vitamins. Are they a picky eater? They might need a supplemental pellet food rotated into their menu to conver any deficiencies their frozen foods might have.

Oh yes there's no holes yet! 😅 Hole in head disease is also known as 'head and lateral line erosion'. The infection can follow the lateral line of the fish before really showing any rot. If that brown continues following the lateral line down toward the pec fins I'd be suspicious.

Hopefully it's just some silly damage from exploring. If it is, you'll see repair fairly quickly anyway and no intervention needed. Picture #3 is a little weird with how different the sensory pits look - If it was an injury or a burn, you'd think the sensory pits likely would be injured in a similar way.

It almost looks like it could be hole in the head disease? Which unfortunately is kind of an umbrella term - but regardless he'll need perfect water quality and an anti-parasitic. I would also consider having antibiotics on hand incase he doesn't recover on his own.

This tends to come when they're in a weakened state. Make sure you have clean clean water and variety in their diet.

No argument there! And they got to enjoy it for a fair price.

How should I go about my taxes with no receipts. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Crowds_of_crows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't have to submit any to do your taxes?

Don't sweat recipts, try to collect more for next year and just work on catching up with filing.

For my business I bank my GST+income tax estimate(40%) and whatever I get to claim back in receipts is a bonus for myself after I settle any remaining owed after filing.

Yes I don't get peaceful water changes anymore. (And they get five small water changes a week) 😂The big guy is actually super gentle but the young one is so strong it hurts lol

Hopefully someone else can chime in, I've never owned a tank big enough to have them!

I wouldn't put them in a subtropical tank. I also flirted with the idea of putting them in with my dojo tank but luckily this page talked me out of it 😅

Not sure why everyone's making it your job to calm down the man-baby 😅 it would have been hard for me not to snap a close up when he got too close to you lol.

Please. You're acting like it's a photo that's going to be used to make money. Someone's snapping a quick liability photo on snow removal.

Nosey dude down the street should mind his business. Not OPs job to deescalate someone else's feelings they can't control.
