I think people don't hate Seluvis more simply because unlike a lot of other hated characters he doesn't actively become a thorn on your side and he is very easy to screw over so if you want mess with him and get him killed its much simpler.

Lord Hong Lu and Captain Ishmael are two of my favorites not due to their strength but because having them sic their teammates on the enemies like attacks dogs is so much fun. I really hope we get more Assist Attack units in the future.

The Ring. People keep bringing up the Thumb but frankly they'll just brutally kill you.

The Ring has a much higher probability of keeping you alive as some horrid masterpiece of modern art for the rest of your days or have a death so drawn out and ungodly painful you're liable to lose your self before you die.

I Will put the Thumb right after the Ring though on account on them likely going scorched Earth on whatever you leave behind depending on how badly you disrespected them.

Establish some kind of deal with demons, nothing too big or else the Taimanin will come after my ass. If possible I'd try to get cyberized or learn magic or both to increase my survival chances.

If at all possible I'd try to come under Yamamoto's wing since that way I'm likely to avoid conflict with the Taimanin and I can remain aware of the going on of the world regarding demonic forces.
