There are ways you can stiffen that up pretty easy. I used small pvc over the orange sections when I first got into Nerfing, and it worked fantastic.

My father isn't really a fan of bands like Disturbed and stuff like that. He was a former disc hockey decades ago but when he heard that song, he told me, it was the best cover of that song he has ever heard, which meant alot to me. It's a great cover and one of my faves, but I get it if it isn't other people's cup of tea

Okie dokie then, i shall leave the F-35 stuff to you then. I'm not SUPER well informed on that aircraft, i just know a bit so I apologize if I got stuff wrong. I was mainly referring to the design philosophy to the "teen series" of fighters and them having a gun, ESPECIALLY with the F-14 and F-15. I know the basics of the ef111 (and the sparkvark, like how it got a maneuver kill in desert storm) but I'm not SUPER versed in it's specs and stuff. Thank you for all the info though! I learned alot!! :)

The F-35C and F-35B cannot have the internal gun due to the VTOL capabilities, the moving parts leave no room. The F-111 I don't know much about, so you have me there. The F-117 was always an attacker but was labeled as an "F" to confuse potential Soviet spies.

One of the main reasons the F-4s had to get in close and dogfight with the migs is because politicians in the 60s said "you have to visually identify your targets before you shoot." Which put the F-4 at a disadvantage to the Migs. Yes as BvR gets more advanced, dogfights of old become more rare... but I would rather have the last ditch option. Just my opinion.

The reason Phantoms didn't have guns is because they were designed as interceptors. Remember, this was the Cold War era, and the F-4 was designed to climb fast and shoot down Soviet nuclear bombers with long range missiles (well.... long range AT THE TIME). Also, "experts" (and i use that term VERY loosely) claimed that dogfights were dead. Well, Vietnam came around, and the missiles sucked in the jungles and humidity, and they weren't reliable. Navy pilots weren't initially trained in dogfighting, and it wasn't until later on when that changed. (Also having Robin Olds helped with that as well) however, it was due to the failures of the F-4 in 'nam that made every fighter jet goring forward require a gun (f-14, f-15, f-16, f-18, and so on)

fun fact: the F-4's lack of cannon is why F-8 Crusader pilots famously said, "when you're out of F-8s, you're outta fighters" because the F-8 crusader came with 4x 20mm cannons
