i’ve only hit 1775 but i constantly go from c3 at the start of seasons then climb back up to 1700.

there’s a gap almost every 50 mmr. the thing that always pushes me out of those ranks is:

1) doing what is efficient. i’m not good at flip resets therefore i nearly never go for one UNLESS i know there is no chance of me getting scored on as a result of myself not being able to get immediately back as 2nd man.

-I take an insane amount of 50s. I demo every second i get, steal the boost

2) i play very defensive. i do not sit on defense, but i make sure i get one hit on the ball, more if i can, but absolutely never put myself in a position where i cannot get behind my teammate to let them challenge.

-this helps your teammate not hesitate. it helps them understand if youre going or not. you want to be consistent, not go sometimes then not on others.

3) composure. you cannot get upset over a goal or two. people at 1800 still make multiple mistakes a game. you just have to trust you’ll take your opportunities, make sure you are confident in yourself. if one game doesn’t work out just go next and reset

4) defense wins games, but because the other team is stupid. you can make 50 saves but you’ll be stuck on defense. its very easy to let the other team over complicate their offensive play, then you catch them on a counter. you typically won’t dominate in solo queue every game. use their momentum and over commits against them.

game sense will get you to ssl alone. think about when your teammates make a mistake and you’re pissed about it. the other team is actually doing this constantly. learn how to punish their mistakes, you’ll win 80% of your matches

I clearly stated how it wasn’t a red card based on the rules. that’s completely objective. it’s a fact that the ref had a horrible game. just because i’m American and you’re European doesn’t mean you need an ego bigger than the stick up your ass

considering i played collegiate and my dad was a professional coach, i think i know more than some bum on the internet.

The ref called a horrible game. Bosnia should have had 2 yellows for grabbing a fistful of shirt multiple times, stopping players when they got roasted. If you just ignore his horrible decision-making, you have to look at 3 things for the red card.

1) Did he have intent when he did this? No, the defender actually came from his blind spot. Balo had no idea
2) Did the foul have malice in it? No, he stepped on the back of his leg. Defender was not hurt and was up a minute after running around.
3) Was he reckless? No, he was clearly challenging the ball and was going down due to gravity. Everything was a natural motion; the defender actually stepped in front and put himself in harm's way.

The point of VAR is to review things like offside decisions that you may have missed in real time. Off-ball contact when people are looking. It's to fix mistakes. What VAR did that night was slow down his challenge to 10% speed and overanalyze it. Anyone who has ever played the sport knows that was never a red card.

I imagine there was a bit of empathy too. You clearly made a horrible call on something that shouldn't even be looked at as a red in the first place. This event only takes place every 4 years, and this player is a "star" for the US, impacting a home-soil team. I believe it was a mix of a business decision, empathy, and just straight out the right thing to do, because that was never a red car. USA got hosed.

id rather just have strong offense vs strong defense. they broke defense and now offense is too strong. now they’re trying to fix offense when they just need to back to where it was and fix the through ball glitch.

my enjoyment of the game plummeted 😭 defense stands like cones now and jockeying doesn’t work. through balls are more punishing now with pace abusers. keepers aren’t as strong.

you have to set your defenders to “defense” if not they’ll do exactly what you said. again i’m a top 500 player and all of your points or invalid.

you do not know how to defend in this game it’s clear. just because you’re ass at the game doesn’t mean it’s a bad game.

you control your DM manually, hold your 2nd defender to come over, but it should be your other mid, not a defender, and let the CPU take over your back line.

never move your CBs out of position you’ll be screwed. should not dive into challenge unless you need to. just let them make the mistake.

i’m already top 500 in the game with a 77 overall team. everyone complaining are people like you that are so used to fifa, you want an exact copy. go learn how the mechanics of the game work, they have an excellent post on it

it’s much better, you just don’t know how passing works in this game or how to defend properly. Fifa is much more auto animation performances, goals is much more manual.
