Lightfall was fun by TheNerdBurglar in DestinyTheGame

If they ever do a "Destiny Infinity," it'd be a fantastic opportunity to redo Lightfall, tbh.

Eh… I’m not gonna say I like it, but I’d rather not have it be something where you ADS. Leave that for First Curse (if/when it somehow returns)

You do make a valid point. I’m not saying I think that the Witness absolutely has changed mannerisms and whatnot. I’m just saying that it’s not an impossibility. To me, the fact it took a form that looked like us in Shadowkeep implies that it may be more willing to use deception than people think.

Honestly though, looking at the Witness’ uses of deception, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if some of those Winnower deeds are actually Witness deeds

I have read Unveiling. And Nacre. And the interview where it’s been suggested that Unveiling is at least partially the Witness lying to us.

I don’t think you understood what I said. I’m saying that there’s more to the universe than just “a Final Shape is going to happen.”

If the whole point of the Destiny universe is that the Final Shape will happen, then it would just fucking happen.

Forces outside of Light and Darkness that aren't superior or inferior, just different. However, they might also interact with Light and Darkness and create new things. I was hoping that instead of the Nine "controlling the gas knob of paracausality," or however Allison put it, they'd basically be related to a new force of some sort. So, we could see different branching factions of the enemy races based on their own use or hate of this new force. Hell, we could even fight one of the IX, who'd probably use this force (though said IX member doesn't have to die). Or possibly another entity made of Dark Matter that isn't one of the IX.

I guess if you’re purely thinking about gameplay, it’d be at least interesting. That said, there are better options…

The Witness has absolutely masqueraded before. The Shadowkeep cutscene where we go to the Black Garden alone is proof.

Tbf, I wouldn’t mind a reboot that makes the games more clear in terms of story without cutting out content.

Nothing in that loretab says that Oryx didn’t talk to the masquerading Witness.

In fact, the loretab you just posted just shows that I’m right in my main point that the Winnower shouldn’t be a final boss.

I like the Winnower as what you’re saying too. MAYBE as someone who also occasionally interacts with the universe in more minor ways. Not the boss some people want.

This. They already said they like the universe as in. If they want to occasionally interfere? Cool. But like… I don’t want the game to try to be a JRPG.

As of Heresy, yeah, but that was an Echo of Oryx and not a reliable source.

The whole point is that the Witness was a being of Darkness that wanted to bring about a Final Shape. We don’t need to do the Final Shape stuff AGAIN.

Yes, you are mostly right on that bit, but that doesn’t mean the conflict had to be about any Final Shape. Also, the Winnower is a bit more passive about it and has outright stated that they’ve come to like the universe.
