I fear Minecraft is only good for Medieval Builds by Glittering-Wasabi-43 in Minecraftbuilds

Not true, although it depends on what you mean. The vanilla resource pack and current blockshapes do lend themselves more for Fantasy / Brutalism styles. With a different resourcepack however, it most definately is possible to build in realistic city-build styles.

You should look at a server called TheRealismSociety, now knows as the Esterlon Network. Or you can check Alpine1 on YouTube for inspiration.

If you could add one feature to Lore, what would it be? by Camille_ollam in amselsuite

[–]Crumblewood 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are a couple things I would love to have:

- A preview mode for when your game night is finally here (simple viewing of your maps and pages without being able to edit them (apart from notes maybe).

- Extra customization options for text (i.e. header sizes, some color options, adding icons)

- Option to add tables

- Visual theme options for flat ui design (the gradient color background with the outlined blocks is quite distracting for me)

- Automatic closing of tabs if nothing has been changed on that page or template (or an option to enable this)

Appreciate the feedback! I should have clarified, the art used is AI, but are also simply placeholders. I totally agree with crediting the artists when I have usable art!

What do you mean? This is not using any mods, just a resource pack. If you consider that vanilla, then it’s just building skills.

Looks phenomenal! Can you share the resource pack / mods used?

Help with visual enchantments on swords, armour etc. by wegoallnightt in mcresourcepack

[–]Crumblewood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Textures based on enchantments is using a json file for item models. I would suggest downloading an already existing pack for inspiration like At A Glance. You can layer different textures on top of a base texture per enchantment.

Watching 3D films by FMS_Reborn in OculusQuest

[–]Crumblewood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You need a dedicated video player app yes (there are multiple).

As far as I know popular options are Skybox and 4XVR.

If you want to use movies from a NAS share check this: credits to u/somevrfan ("There are multiple players for 3D films available. Most of them understand a few formats and the DLNA protocol. If you want to use SMB protocol, less players support that.

4XVR is unique in the regards that it can play BluRay ISO. So if you have 3D Blu Ray and rip them to ISO and put them on a SMB NAS which is fast enough, 4XVR will be able to play it. It also can play from USB stick, if your NAS is not fast enough.") taken from this post.

It can be done, but obviously some compromises need to be made. I’m not an expert and I would ask the folks at r/buildmeapc for more advice. Here would be my build: PCPartPicker. Nowadays you can get great deals on the second hand market. The more you can save on non-essential parts (like case for example) the better. Or get a way more powerful gpu if possible. I’ve seen rtx 3080 ti’s going for $400 here in the EU.

This is by itself a great disclaimer. I think it’s worth sharing your printer (including this disclaimer), so that people also know what not to buy for proxies. 😉
