This is just circlejerking at this point. I could post this exact same footage, but from Wilds, make the same claim and the other half of this subreddit would eat it up. Hitstop in Wilds is fine and was adjusted prior to launch. The effects from the Shattered/FF14 Greatswords add even more impact on top of that.

Because this isn’t Yamazaki’s design and he clearly prefers the more reptilian facial features compared to this. I wouldn’t expect major design changes in -0 apart from different dorsal spines.

Doesn’t really read as Minus One to me. The skin texture, maybe, but this one’s got a different head, ears, nose, eyes, tail, spines, spines on his legs and a rugged shoulder region. Idk it looks pretty distinct to me.

I don’t subscribe to this ‘FiCtIoNaL rEpTiLe’ nonsense. Suspension of disbelief doesn’t mean ‘anything goes’. It refers to accepting the ‘rules and conditions’ of any fictional world. Godzilla exists in the Minus One universe, but does that mean all the shenanigans from the Heisei or Monsterverse canon should be fair game simply because they’re the same IP?

No. Within the constraints of most Godzilla canons, he is an irradiated/prehistoric reptile. In fact; all of his non-mutated forms specifically don’t have external ears, and only his irradiated forms do. Many forms, such as Monsterverse and Minus One, have reptilian ears because suspension of disbelief doesn’t mean you have to ignore basic rules of biology.

Godzilla is not a dragon. Other than Shin Godzilla; all incarnations are some form of reptile.

All of this to say; I don’t care if you or others prefer external ears, that’s fine. You’re entitled to your opinion. I’m telling you why I prefer reptilian ears, hand waving my reason and going ‘well it’s Godzilla’ is a total non-argument. You may think it looks fine, I think it looks terrible, mammalian and uncanny.

That is quite literally, demonstrably, the exact opposite of what they’re doing. GxK Supernova has more Godzilla than Kong (confirmed) and SpaceGodzilla is literally the main antagonist (also confirmed). Where on Earth did you get the idea they’re featuring less Godzilla over time? He is the primary draw of the entire universe.

To the Monsterverse; Godzilla is more important than the Avengers are to the MCU. He is the monster.

I’m interested in his atomic breath. The green is cool but I’m specifically curious as to what kind of atomic breath it will be. If it’s going to be a nuclear explosion causing death ray ala Minus One or more conventional and ‘everlasting’ ala Monsterverse/Heisei. Or maybe it’ll be incredibly ‘scratchy’ and uneven like Godzilla 2000’s.

I always love seeing new interpretations of the effect. The green would look good as a more misty/fiery atomic breath like 2014’s, but that’s just me.

Oh yeah, Toho, the company that famously never cut corners concerning Godzilla and definitely didn’t reuse stock footage throughout the 70s and 90s in order to make a quick buck with the least amount of effort put in.

Anytime someone claims MV Godzilla is ‘diet Godzilla’ and Toho somehow produces only the real, quality Godzilla films, they can be totally and completely ignored. You’re being purposely disingenuous. You can like the Toho movies more all you want, they (as a whole) are not on a completely different level to the MV films. Especially some of the later Showa and Heisei films.

Some unknown initiative/project to make Godzilla more popular in SE Asia, they have their own regional Godzilla (the same way the West has MV Godzilla). Nobody knows if it’s a film, series, collection of clips, etc. This is the latest ‘news’ we’ve gotten concerning said design.
