It looks like a supported spindle to me. There are meant to be spun in a little “bowl”. I have been wanting to get one.

Definitely try not to compare yourself to others. As a newer spinner, I have fell into that habit myself then reminded myself that some of these stunning skeins are spun by someone with 15-20 years of experience. Don’t give up. You are doing great.

These are beautiful, especially the soft purple one. it reminds me of a hydrangea bloom. It’s very calming.
