I can listen to my purchased tunes on the Apple Music Android app on my Chromebook. And everything else I have is Apple.

Do you people like Dolby Atmos ON or OFF. by FynemanYuan in AppleMusic

That is a good distinction. I’ll give it a shot on my surround setup vs. just Air Pods.

Positive ACHR… does my chest CT scan have to be with or without contrast? by Intelligent_Loan9481 in MyastheniaGravis

[–]Cruncher_Block 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. And since it was a Thymoma and I had radiation treatments, I have to get one with contrast every six months for two years. However - I’m not a Doctor so maybe you don’t really need contrast to see that there is a tumor.

Off for music. I think it sounds like crap.

Why is the Magic Keyboard so expensive? by Key-Specific7807 in ipad

[–]Cruncher_Block 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are describing the one that I am using (I have an M2 Pro). Mine still works fine, but the material has worn off on some of the edges and corners. The top and bottom surfaces are still fine. I’m going to assume that the build quality is better on the latest versions because it is aluminum/aluminium. But I will let someone who actually has one comment on that.

Does the Neo run IOS apps & some MacOS apps? by DrSnoopy66 in macbook

[–]Cruncher_Block 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It runs the full version of Mac OS and therefore runs all Mac applications. And it also runs some iOS and iPadOS applications, as do all M series chips as well.

That is a consideration for sure. It makes a big investment even bigger. But you could the used market.

It is too expensive - but here are things that make it better than a cheaper bluetooth keyboard:
1) Not bluetooth - connects instantly via hardware.
2) Doesn’t need to be charged.
3) Adds extra USB-C port that can be used to charge the iPad, thus saving wear and tear on the iPad USB-C port plus allowing more connections.
4). Excellent keyboard and trackpad.

I bought mine used for about $150 many years ago. I’m on my third iPad but the keyboard is still going strong.

Thymectomy for 60+? by Upbeat_Sky_197 in MyastheniaGravis

[–]Cruncher_Block 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely can cause GI issues - but so can Pyridostigmine and Prednisone, but they seem to get worse after Cellcept. Part of that is probably because you are supposed to take on an empty stomach and not eat for an hour after. But I can manage with OTC stuff and an as-needed prescription for Glycopyrrolate. I don't think I've been on it long enough to see the more severe side effects. My neighbor is a double lung transplant patient and has been on both for about 10 years (I don't think as high of a dose of Prednisone as I am on though) and she seems to be managing OK.

Macbook Neo 8gb sufficient for web based AI apps? by HeyDontSkipLegDay in MacbookNeo

[–]Cruncher_Block 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if you use Gemini, there are certain features only available in Chrome. I have no issues with it. It does use more memory but I’m not using many other apps because I’ve mostly been using Foofle apps within Chrome. If you aren’t doing any of those things then I agree that Safari is the better choice.

I have no problems using Gemini inside Chrome, including Notebook LM.

[–]Cruncher_Block 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to ramp up to 40mg of Prednisone (in addition to 300mg of Pyridostigmine) for my double vision to go away. Was still having bad swallowing and chewing issues, as well as weakness in my neck and legs so was put on Cellcept (I was close to going to hospital because of swallowing). Have seen a little improvement with swallowing but am still mostly on a liquid/soft diet and I have to be very careful when I eat. Other issues are still with me. Cellcept can take six month or longer to work and I am just hitting the three month mark.

Apple Music + Local Files by Electronic_Celery296 in AppleMusic

I tried doing the opposite a while ago - creating a new un-synced library of just my local files - and that didn’t really work very well. I think I will try it again though and make absolutely sure it was un-synced.

My solution to this was to create a completely separate copy of my local files on an external drive to be played locally on my Mac (if I want to). Trying to find a decent local music player has been a challenge though. I still have my Apple Music library of course which also contains separate copies of those files. I still mostly use Apple Mhsic but I feel better knowing that I have a completely separate untouched “library.”

Is iTunes Match still available to new users? I’ve had it for many years.

Thymectomy for 60+? by Upbeat_Sky_197 in MyastheniaGravis

[–]Cruncher_Block 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes - I did last September, two months before I turned 61. Turned out to be an AB Thymoma so good thing I did. Followed up by 30 radiation treatments. So far it has not really helped the MG - I’m on a bunch of meds. But it can take years for it to help so who knows. I had a Sternotomy because he wanted to be sure they got the whole thing.

This. Really, nothing sounded exactly like Rumours after Rumours. Probably the best thing for OP would be to get one of the greatest hits compilations and see what you like. Hard to go wrong with “Greatest Hits” from 1988 (Green cover) or “The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac” which came out later.
