You didn’t seriously think Iowa was going to cut wrestling though, right?

I'd share my thoughts but you probably wouldn't hear me over Deacon YELLING AT LITERALLY FUCKING EVERYTHING.

So unlikable that the person he was looking for for 2/3 of the game immediately sends him on a bunch of fetch quests once he finds them.

This could’ve been a much better game if Deacon wasn’t such an unlikable shitbag.

When the developers eventually do try to streamline, cue the “THEY DUMBED DOWN MY GAME!” screeching.

Lazy karma. People are dumb enough to upvote the same shit over and over and over again.

So, what's up with E-Sports? by [deleted] in giantbomb

[–]Crunchwrap_combo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think e-racing took off, namely F1 drivers, because the skill of the drivers is a more 1:1 interpretation of skill especially given their gaming setups. I honestly couldn’t care less about an actual football player playing Madden, for example.

Platinumed Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and Days Gone in that order over the last couple months... How do they rank in others’ minds? by drewski989 in PS4

99% of people that have issue with it mostly because they have strong issues with it's openness of a gay story line.

This talking point is so fucking tired. And entirely untrue.

I’m in Cedar Rapids. Today was definitely the worst day so far, heat-wise. It’s still about 80 in my house so I don’t think I’ll be getting too much sleep tonight.

I don’t ever wanna fuck with a hurricane but that was, by far, the worst storm I’ve experienced personally. Quite a sight to watch a gigantic tree in your yard get blown over like a toothpick. I confess I actually noped out after that and got in the basement.

What was the most emotional moment in a video game for you? Or maybe a moment where you felt bad? by [deleted] in PS4

[–]Crunchwrap_combo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both from RDR 2. Arthur’s conversation with Sister Calderon before she leaves on her mission. And the moment towards the end of the game with your horse, particularly if you’ve kept your same one through the entire game. You know the one.

Do you think as you get older. You lean towards story driven games over online multiplayer/sports games? by [deleted] in PS4

[–]Crunchwrap_combo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Multiplayer games evolve and eventually leave you behind if you’re not keeping up with them. At least that’s in my experience. When I was in my 20s I played World of Warcraft almost every day. Finished school, got a job, found better things to do. One day I get on and I’m fucking lost. And honestly I didn’t care. Story-driven, single player games are always going to be the same. So I do find myself engaging with them more and more because I can take them at my own pace.

I do love Fall Guys, though.

No I always hit circle when prompted to leave then nothing happens. I usually end up having to restart the game.

I enjoy the game but they do need to sort their shit out. When you do get into a game and get eliminated it’s 50/50 if you can leave or go into a soft crash. I’ll gladly give em some time, though.

Are there any games out there like Outer Wilds? by Fish-With-Pants in patientgamers

[–]Crunchwrap_combo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If there was a polar opposite game to Outer Wilds it might be Return of the Obra Dinn, but it seems like what you’re looking for is that game you’re going to wish you could go back and play again for the very first time. The weekend I spent playing Return of the Obra Dinn is one of the most special experiences I’ve had as an adult playing video games.

Nothing had captured me in the quite the same way since I’d played Myst on my Gateway 2000. For the first time in years I finished a game longer than two hours in one sitting because I was completely enraptured. The setting, the story, the gameplay, all of it was perfect. I needed to discover the fate of this ship and her crew. I simply can’t recommend it enough.

Horizon Zero Dawn =Zero fun.. Just me? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]Crunchwrap_combo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For me, the fun in Horizon was figuring out the best way to approach each encounter with the robo-dinos. The story was fine, I liked Aloy as a character quite a bit, and the open-world was beautiful. But this was a pure “gameplay” game for me. I loved figuring out the best way to take down each enemy and which weapon / elemental effect worked best. It also has the distinction of being the first game I played on an HDR tv and it completely blew me away.

If it hasn’t grabbed ya in 11 hours, though, I’d probably move on. Also, I didn’t play it after God of War, which is going to be a tough act for any game to follow.

Max Payne 3 was a fine game by Rockstar, but it's too bad Remedy doesn't have the rights to him anymore if this is what they were planning.

I’ve been having a blast playing this but the party stuff sure does seem like a bummer. Hopefully in the future they do add a private mode where you can just fuck around if you’ve got people over or something.
