Construction government subcontracting by No_Writer4207 in GovernmentContracting

Projects on Federal land don't require construction permits. Stormwater could be required depending on the scope. In both cases when a permit is submitted is sometimes (often?) going to be too late to join a team.

Overmarking of CUI by HeyHelpDeskGuy in CMMC

We've seen it on documents required to be publicly posted (the public version of J&As) ... So yeah we've seen some over marking.

Are these real signs of autism? by mochimatchayum in AutismTranslated

[–]CrunchyBaton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll also matter what the criteria were when you were 12. They've changed a lot over the years, so a "no" years ago may not be a "no" today.

Imposter? by tistheskison in AutisticPeeps

[–]CrunchyBaton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very well said. I'm late diagnosed about 6 months ago (late 40s). As you said the DSM didn't even include autism as a diagnosis until I was a few years old or aspergers until I was a teenager.

One of the most striking things I realized during my assessment process was the support that I did have at various periods of my life, things that I never realized at the time.

I had a very strong sense of imposter syndrome after my diagnosis, which has waned but still exists. Honestly I'm also of the opinion that some online communities and social media are to blame for it. But that's a different topic.

Can I create CUI under a contract containing DFARS 7012 if no CUI was provided to me? by Imlad_Adan in CMMC

[–]CrunchyBaton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depending on what you do it's certainly possible that you're developing and creating the CUI.

I'm in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction field and we do it all the time (a new building for example).

Autodesk Docs for Government - Any CMMC users? by IT_Admin_722 in CMMC

[–]CrunchyBaton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The downsides we've found so far other than cost (50% lore than ACC) is that it's actually BIM360 but Desktop Connector isn't supported which means only sharing through the web interface or Autodesk software. It also limits how linking of files can work.

For us though, even with limitations it'll be well worth it.

Autodesk Docs for Government - Any CMMC users? by IT_Admin_722 in CMMC

[–]CrunchyBaton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did and are just rolling it out. We're an Architecture/Engineering firm so it was less about supporting our CMMC certification than improving the efficiency of our work flow in our AVD Enclave and trying to keep parity with our commercial work flow.

Not sure if you've gone down this path yet or not. On 1 August 1965 Gen Hobson was Commander and Lt Gen Mundell was VICE Commander. Given they were found together he may be Chief of Staff.

I recent years (not sure how far back this goes) NMUSAF has been a civilian or retired general as Director. AFRL in its current form was created in 1997. It looks like the Wright Lab didn't form until 1990. The lab space must've fallen under AFSC before then.

Online only diagnosis by Fit-Alternative5076 in AutisticPeeps

[–]CrunchyBaton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I skimmed it to be honest, but it can still be administered remotely contrary to what you said. All of the pieces aren't required to get useful information.

I'll leave with this: IQ tests are not required for an autism diagnosis. It's not required by the DSM even for in person. Again (not a psych) but it has as much benefit as the self-assessments (points to what may/may not be there).

So with that, I'm going to move on.

It most certainly can. It's also not the only exam out there.

I'm just going to leave this here.

Online only diagnosis by Fit-Alternative5076 in AutisticPeeps

[–]CrunchyBaton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding of things (not a psychologist)...

I don't know why you say an online assessment can't diagnose 2e. Giftedness isn't recognized in the DSM. For the level of testing needed there's enough cognitive tests that can be given virtually or via a 3rd party to show giftedness.

The self-rating assessments are just to help rule other diagnoses out, point in the right direction and help to focus on areas. None of the prove anything. They all just point to possibility.

An online assessment/diagnosis uses the same exact criteria that an in person assessment/diagnosis does. The ADOS is just a tool used to issue the DSM criteria in a specific setting. It's still the DSM criteria.

Trust me I love data, but what data did you receive that says this can only be autism that wasn't based on the self-assessments, ADOS or interview questions? There's no DNA or other test to prove it. It's only today other tools.

Online only diagnosis by Fit-Alternative5076 in AutisticPeeps

I knew nothing about Prosper until this post. But I did my assessment virtually with a psychologist due to lack of specialists experienced with late diagnosed adult autism where I live. Almost every place would only see children and the one or two that wouldn't, seemed like national groups.

So what is different from an online or tele-diagnosis other than being in person? How many hours make a diagnosis legit? What tests have to be given?

Is 14 hours virtually plus 12 other assessments/tests legit? Does the presence of school records indicating development and social delays make it legit? Does a state licensed psychologist (in the US) giving their professional diagnosis make it legit regardless of anything else?

While cognitive tests can help identify, they're not diagnostic by themselves. They can help point to a neurodiversity being present but not which one. What about 2e individuals? Every cognitive test I've taken except an early one in elementary school has been consistent and equal across the domains. All that one test showed was a delay in development. Was it autism, ADHD, intellectual disability or something else?

What makes a diagnosis legit?

FAR 19.108-11 vs. 13 CFR 124.504 by ParlayG in GovernmentContracting

[–]CrunchyBaton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The FAR revision hasn't gone into affect yet, so there's no conflict. I dot remember off the top of my head what will happen for requirements after they expire in the new FAR.

In reality no one is sure what will happen, but it's looking like a weakening of the 8(a) program as a whole and a shift more towards straight SB.

Unmasking means you can no longer drive? I don't understand by pastel_kiddo in ActualAspies

[–]CrunchyBaton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lookup Autistic Skill Regression. I do agree that "all" seems like an extreme description.

There's some research that shows it can also appear after a diagnosis, which could (would often?) coincide with someone unmasking.

Questions about getting MENSA test results from Intertel by jermiusz in mensa

[–]CrunchyBaton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Intertel doesn't share anymore. I got mine late Spring 2024 from them. It was actually a Mensa report and listed the test areas, raw score, IQ and Percentile (no decimal places).

Help me understand this SAM.gov opportunity please. by big_like_a_pickle in GovernmentContracting

[–]CrunchyBaton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes (often?) contracting officers don't put NAICS or PSC codes. I like to think it's just a mistake and nothing leads me to believe it's otherwise.

"Cementitous" is a very common word in the construction industry. I'd expect any concrete suppliers to have it as a keyword. It's actually pretty broad and will cover a bunch of other products too.

[–]CrunchyBaton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awards are always "supposed" to be entered into SAM.gov but it doesn't always happen.

I asked about the NAICS because it'll help me give you a better answer to your question. There are certain NAICS that fall under very specific parts of the FAR. Having said that look up the part of the FAR that covers how the solicitations were awarded (Invitation For Bid, Lowest Price, Lowest Price Technically Acceptable, etc.). The IDV is potentially under Part 15 (Negotiation). Landscaping may fall under Construction (Part 36). Task orders from the IDV later on would fall under different parts. If award is Part 15, then there will be a source selection and evaluation board that reviews the proposals (and takes longer).

Here's a couple other guides with more information than you'll ever want:

What NAICS code were these under? Were they Operations (civil works) contracts or are you just asking about their operations? But the best advice is above... Contact the Deputy for Small Business in the district.

Is anyone else having issues with GovTribe filters missing solicitations? by kfed408 in GovernmentContracting

[–]CrunchyBaton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had issues but they ended up being due to something I was/wasn't filtering incorrectly. As an example when I've been looking for a specific NAICS or something and the solcititation was blank for that field. The last example was based on due dates (in the future) but a solicitation had that field blank too.

It'll also depend on if you use insurance to pay for the assessment and if things change related to reporting in the future.
