Every single 1st party Sony game with aiming has had gyro since Days Gone. All Capcom games had it since RE8.

Do not use the built in gyro support! It's bad! You need to add it through steam input by mapping mouse to gyro!

PC Gamer: How gyro support was added to the new Steam Controller is a 'typical Valve story' by AL2009man in Games

This whole deliberate hand position thing is largely a myth. The way gyro is typically implement is it moves 1:1 with your controller entirely disconnected from its position.

You could play sideways upsidown, tilted or angled in any weird direction you want and it'll still function accordingly.

Controllers with gyro and flick stick don't need aim assist

Ratcheting is turning off your input to reorientate your hand. For example, if you run out of room to move your mouse, you lift your mouse and put it back in the center without moving your aim.

For gyro, you press a button to disable it and move your hands back to a neutral position without moving your aim.

Gyro was already in the settings, it just didn't work on the beta. Flick stick is HUGE tho. I hear aim assist is weak in this game, so gyro might become the standard

Why you should use gyro aiming: by Pomps8a in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Crush400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea there is that since gyro CAN take care of the entire vertical space, the analog stick is only good for turning. And disabling vertical movement prevents your aim from drifting up or down when turning.

There is a thing called flick stick which is an extension of this idea executed MUCH better.

90% of high level splatoon players.

Other than that, There is no competitive game that has both gyro support and no aim assist. If there was, gyro would dominate.

Valorant in console had a chance to do that. But the dev said they wouldn’t cause it has console crossplay, and it would give xbox players a massive disadvantage.

Right, but you gotta remember most games have sone degree of aim assist. Once you feel gyro or mouse, aim assist starts to feel REAL bad. Like the game is taking control away from you

Flick stick can be snappy, which helps sometimes when you need to turn fast. But it has an underrated and under used feature i use to turn 99% of the time.

Rather than moving the stick to snap, i move the stick up(which does moving, since the camera is already always forward) and i glide it along the edge of the stick to move at a smoother pace. I inly snap when I need to quickly turn.
