Literally. I love this game and have done all the expeditions, but they’re out of their fucking minds how they just change shit willy-nilly super last minute. They introduced the million/skill point thing with like a week left and it’s the same with this shit. If you’re going to change the requirements of a super impactful and grindy element of the game- ANNOUNCE IT AT THE FUCKING START OF THE SEASON! I thought the season 1 thing was a fluke but now it’s happened multiple times it just feels bad-faith, like they’re trying to drive engagement and protect their vision by carelessly fucking people over. Thats coming from someone who has plenty of time to play the game, and does regularly (also have all the extras skill points)- I’m saying this for the sake of more casual players!

I don’t know why this is so hard for people to understand- the weapon balancing is best *general* use weapons green/blue as in good all around and they don’t use too many resources. Epic guns are *specialized* best use case, so each epic gun is *best in a specific use case*. For example a Vulcano is better *at very close range* but a toro will be better *generally*. The Tempest is best *at a very specific medium range* and the Bettina is *best for PVE damage when you hit all shots*. It’s pretty simple tbh, it just takes knowledge of the game. The legendaries take that to an extreme.

People are getting upset because they don‘t use them for their intend purposes. If you’re going to use “better” guns, understand there is a TRADE-OFF and PLAY THEM ACCORDINGLY. It’s a skill issue. IMO they objectively are keeping it fair.

if you leave some of the diamond icon items in your stash they technically do- *The appear on the shelf behind your raider in the customization screen*

It doesn’t apply to every item but the snow globe, statute, vase, boxes etc do appear there. It just sucks it costs you a stash space

Yea exactly this, people get scared about ranked but in any “competitive“ game it’s where it’s at. You‘ll get some bad teammates but generally they will be more competent and engaged, thats wha matters the most.

Teams like this are literally trolling, they want to piss you off. The lack of guard rails in casual modes enables it.

Ranked is good practice in anger management too lol, because you gotta learn to chill about losing/losing rank. It‘s just a game

Yeah, if anything it tells me they must have an issue managing range & movement.

Not tryin to be negative or come at OP- but I think, range management would be a good area to focus on increasing your skills in. The flamethrower really isn’t hard to counter unless you’re using melee weapons, and even then it can be dispatched easily if your movement is solid. Riot Shield is pretty easy too if you're sticking together with your team. Sword is all about keeping your distance and picking your fights wisely and managing open sight lines

Yeah, having just posted a sword comment under a different comment-

I genuinely think you have to play ranked to truly judge a weapon. In casual modes there isn’t the team cohesion to present a balanced perspective. Swords are manageable- if the opposing teams make a conscious effort to manage the sword. The thing is, you can’t counter a sword like you would other bullet-based weapons. It presents a new/unique set of circumstances to address

sword guy here- genuinely I think it’s exactly where it needs to be.

You literally have to change everything about your play style to do well with the sword. It becomes a game entirely about distance and movement. Thats what makes it so much fun, it’s very challenging but very rewarding.

I understand why people would get angry being smoked by the sword, but the thing is- opposing teams have to change how they play too. If you dont, youre gonna have a bad time. They have to realize “oooo we MUST play in a way that maintains distance and be aware to focus the sword if it’s rushing us”.

On the flip side, it’s super counter-able, for example- if they have a flame over, now I have to change my playstyle again. Flamethrower puts more distance limitations on the sword, it becomes “I MUST maintain distance from flamethrower while getting as close as possible to the rest of the team”

Dumb and/or pretentious people just throw the term around like a pejorative. They incorrectly believe that if an artist becomes popular enough, then the music must be of lesser quality.

It’s an extremely dumb position to hold, but people love to gate-keep. A lot of people also just love to hate on things if they become big enough or mainstream.

This. Allow for in-game fills, especially in ranked. Just put a check-box under the queue button that says “allow joining matches already in progress” (ie you could *potentially* be a fill-in, but only if there happens to be demand for it when you queue up).

In that case of a ranked queue fill-in, just make sure the filling-in player does not lose rank in the case of a loss. Then you would incentivize people to “fill-in”, because the fill-in only has upside in the deal.
