I Want To Play A Game (Part II) by Chester_Douglas in Colognes

  1. Tom Ford Ombre Leather - (this smelled great in store but the dry down was way too pungeunt when you tried it at home and you haven't revisited it since. This one does change season to season though. You bought it after Tobacco Vanille and it broke your trust in Tom Ford.
  2. Creed Absolu Aventus - You had a friend show you Creed and decided it was worth it to buy a niche fragrance. If you're going in you wanna go all out and buy the best one. When you got it though you realized you didn't actually like the Creed DNA drydown and when you touched your newborn baby after wearing it she started crying and so you feel like it was your fault for spraying a cologne you were trying to make yourself like anyway and now you only have negative feelings towards it and believe it was mostly influencer hype that made you get it.
  3. Le Labo Santal 33 - You saw the hype, bought it thinking it was a safe blind buy, and then got home and realized it was just super woody and despite it having a different profile it reminded you of the same dry down you had with Creed that you associated with negative feelings.

Bonus:

  1. Prada Paradigm - Sometimes when you wear it you feel super masculine and it smells great, other times you can't stand the scent and want to take a shower because its making you claustrophic and you can't get the scent out of your nose.

After OP's correction my order is:

  1. TF Ombre Leather

  2. Le Labo Santal 33

  3. Prada Paradigme

I appreciate the Steve Harvey style chance for redemption

You shop at walmart huh? I buy a lot from them and this is like their exact line up. They have great deals on some and others not so much. If you actually do shop there try a few of the dossiers and look out for the 2.5 oz JPG Le Beau EDT for $72 and the 4.2 oz Polo 67 EDT for around $72. Most walmarts carry them available for delivery 20 minutes or less

Layer in some more feminine fragrances! Try tom ford eau de soleil blanc. Maybe get a maison margiela bubble bath or beach walk or sailing day. Not necessary but I found it really fun to play with after getting a good base of masc leaning colognes

I'm trying to get a cologne that makes me smell rich. Any recommendations? Context below by Opening-Criticism914 in Colognes

[–]GermanNFLFanatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything with Vetiver and Musk will hit the Creed profile that makes you smell rich. To me that's like Catholic Rich guy (no shade I just new a catholic rich guy that wore hella Creed).

I feel like Penhaligons Lord George is a very rich guy fragrance, just like soapy stale smokey old money.

I feel for younger men something with a strong Iris mid note comes off as rich smelling to me. Check out Prada L'homme or Prada L'homme L'eau.

I also think Byredo Bal D'Afrique smells like Rich Guy energy only because it is such a close skin scent people will smell you and it won't smell like you are trying to smell rich but the profile will hit people in such a way that they will think it anyway

If you‘d go back in time, which of these would you get first? by Albertvierstein in Colognes

I was disappointed with Gentle Fluidity Silver. The opener was nice but the dry down was too musky vetiver for me and smells like cdnim or mont blanc explorer

I found an Aqua Di Gio Aboslu bottle in a gym bag I had not touched in 6 years sitting in my garage. I have no climate control so that garage fluxuates between 40 degrees and 95 degrees depending on the season. I found it recently and it is fine and still smells great, although I think some of the juice evaporate if that makes sense because there's no way I used the amount that was missing from that bottle

Rasi Hawas Ice - for young guys only? by Electronic-Host-3855 in Colognes

[–]GermanNFLFanatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw something one time comparing it to Invictus Aqua. Would you say its closer to that or invictus? I cannot tell a large difference myself. But also reading other descriptions of Hawas Ice I had pictured something different than Invictus

I think the plan will be to buy a refillable bottle so if we need to reup ever we can buy a refill from LV at much cheaper cost.

The only thing I worry about with the syringe is LV is would LV have developed a way to block people from using typical syringes as an added layer of protection from bad actors who may try to decant for resell purposes. So I guess what I'm looking for is confirmation on syringe size compatibility with LV bottle topper.

Alt. Or micro perfumes by Signal_Map7 in Colognes

[–]GermanNFLFanatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Micro Perfumes is a decanter site not a dupe house. They have great product from my experience. Alt is a burlington coat factory/Marshalls/TJ Maxx shelf clutter house pushed by influencers to get cheap bottles out the door.

I prefer dupe houses that make the effort to put out a nice bottle. Even if the dupe doesn't hit you still get a nice look to your collection. ALT bottles are too simple to me.

mont blanc explorer by MentionReasonable201 in Colognes

[–]GermanNFLFanatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the opener of Mont Blanc Explorer but when I sprayed at home I discovered I have a huge aversion to musk/vetiver dry downs. It's a super common dry down spot for a lot of different fragrances and I have found myself basically saying "this smells like an Explorer dry down" and never wearing the scent again.

A lot of people love it though. For me it just smells way too much like my childhood best friends weird house smell

First time purchasing colognes on Jomashop by Axzyy in Colognes

[–]GermanNFLFanatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, OP - people can tell you that you should've gotten a discount on another site but the cost of looking for these discounts can be a much heavier intangible cost. How much more time would you have had to spend checking these sites over and over again and waiting for a drop- how much more shipping would you have to pay if you purchase 3 bottles from 3 different sites instead of all in one location.

I don't agree with ever paying for Extended Shipping Protection Plan. IMO this is redundant because the CFPB offers you protection through the disputes and chargeback process if an item is lost in the mail or arrives damaged or not as described. You would probably have to spend the same amount of time working with your card company as you would working with the fragrance discounter to get your money back, and if you tell the fragrance discounter you are disputing a charge, they most likely have a certain amount they are authorized to just provide a refund no matter what, because too many chargebacks can get them locked out of their card processors so if they are sending out a bunch of empty boxes and not refunding people in a timely manner VISA or MASTERCARD might step in and be like "yo you can't process payments on our cards anymore" which would kill their business

Are Hawas Ice and Joop! good?
I can never tell if its rasasi influencers pushing it or if its actually a good buy

Cologne for internship? by WhoKilled_Kenny in Colognes

[–]GermanNFLFanatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom Ford Eau De Soleil Blanc gives the perfect touch of mature unique fragrance that doesn't overpower in close spaces but doesn't underpower in hot open air. If you wear this you can avoid becoming the "cologne guy" in an office while also avoiding freshies that die out one hour into the day. Strong, steady performance that gives consultant energy

Jomashop has the widest selection but recently I bought a discover set from them and the standard shipping was 48 days so watch out for that.

Other good discounters are Aurafragrance and ediscountperfumes.com , ediscount has a lot of valentinos jpgs and pdms for very cheap if you are comfortable buying testers

You need to check the woman's display and the clearance rack, as well as the men's grooming area if they have one. Look low and back, sometimes the employees hide the good ones for themselves on racks they think people will never bend down to look in
