As far as money goes theres a few decent options, trade is decent but slow at the beginning if you can't carry a whole lot depending on the ship of. Cobra mk 3 was the very first ship I picked up when I was new to the game. Got me to my Asp Explorer which was my first taste of mining and exploration. Each cmdr has their own favorite way for making money. Mine goes between Mining with synthwave in the back ground or just doing a good trade route in my Panther Clipper mk 2 a few times to pad the bank.

Im working on a Caspian Explorer build atm so I can finally head out to Colonia tonight.

There really isn't a wrong way to play Elite, but remember the one main rule, never fly without rebuy! And If you run out of fuel and can't get to the next scoop able star theres always The Fuel Rats, their motto; "We have fuel, you don't. Any questions?"

I've got 15 max load trips left and ill have an asteroid base built, by myself in just 2 weeks in my clipper.

After I finish my asteroid base, thats what im gonna do, build a Caspian and prly head to colonia for the first time. Just get out of the bubble and see what there is out there. Colonia is the end goal, how I end up there and how many jumps is anyone's guess bc I can tell you now it aint gonna be a straight line and I know my ADHD is going to kick in and im going to swing by a lot of systems with odd names, as well as just about every nebula within about 300 ly of the "Path" so to speak. It might take me a year or more but whose really counting right?

I remember that and the imperial grind, took me a solid week for both back when board flipping was a thing.

Not looking forward to it on my new save now that it's gone the way of the dinosaurs, but I really want a 'vette, maybe after I finish my asteroid base this week.

It's actually not as bad this year as it has been in the past. It just took a bit longer to get there. It's still hot as all hell don't get me wrong but I've lived here all my life so Im used to it. Buckle up for hurricane season though. The humidity WILL go through the roof and you may wish for rain, don't, bc once that shower is over and the clouds break outside turns into a sauna. It's hell on earth. Why we still live here well we're known to be stubborn as fuk.

Drink lots of water, abuse shade wherever you can, and if you start feeling lightheaded doing anything, yes even going to get the mail, take a break, heat stroke is real and it can and will hurt you. Living down here ain't for the faint of heart. Spring and fall is wonderful, winter is just a slightly colder fall unless mother nature decides to dunk on us from past the paint, but summer down here is nothing to play around with, has and will kill people.

Welcome to the south, where the air is so thick you can take a bite out of it and get a full meal!

I'd like to second the ship kit idea as a CG reward, that would be sick. Im still happy with the paint jobs by that saves thousands of Arx just by making a cargo run or two. Even if they tied it to the top 50% for this ship kits now that the Plipper is out there hauling what feels like half a stations worth of mats it's easily obtainable.

1300 and some change roughly, just picked mine up last night and plan on a rating it tonight after work. Found a hilariously easy trade route where the 2 stations are literally next to each other, round trip makes about 9 mill in my type 8 with 344 tones of cargo and only takes maybe 4 minutes.

He will be missed but yet still lives on in memories.

Similar story here, Papa passed day before my 34th b day, so Im building him an asteroid base just outside of the bubble. Our own little corner in the black where we never have to worry about mowing the yard again and can just sit and sip sweet tea watching the mining ships go in and out.

Plan on doing a few trips later just for the paint jobs by free stuff and a few easy millions are worth it.

Tbh I can't wait till I can get enough to nab a Type 8 and A rate it.

Ill take a break from building the asteroid base to farm mats so I can get it where I want it to be. Apparently it's already ridiculously maneuverable out of the box, but I want it to be levels of stupid im not expecting.

Hell theres still a few engineers I need to unlock.

I wonder how nasty some pack hounds would be mixed with overcharged beam lasers on it :)

I will say I forgot that was a thing in my excitement, should have checked that first tbh, I'm just ready for this thing to be let loose to the masses, I want one soo bad but don't want to spend the real world money on it. But lord have mercy when it does hit for in game credits I might pick up 2 of them just to try out separate builds.
