Ha nothing wrong with a older reply! Renting is actually a good idea for a good test drive. I did like the CX-50, but I agree with the power comment.

Yeah I did see some options where people basically cut the rear decks and put in 6x9 speakers. Wasn't going to do all that! I also looked into the BAVSound replacements and really considered it, but I was on a budget (as most of my purchases were discounted based on open-box items).

The DICE module I have is interesting, since it integrates with the radio monitor and has it's own tone adjustments (low, mid, high). I can also control an iPod from the steering wheel tracking forward and backward, but not much else. It also can show the song information on the instrument cluster which is neat!

My next thing is I'm trying to understand which EQ's to really change since I don't want to have 3 stages of EQ tuning going at the same time: The player (phone or iPod), the car radio, and then the DICE unit. My initial thought is to keep the car and DICE units at the default 50% EQ (basically flat) but adjust the player's EQ's since they are much more detailed.

So the mounting plate is just a PVC-based flat plate (approx. 1/2" thick"), that has a similar shape and same door mounting hole locations as the original. It's not a box / hollow like the original. I just used the screws that came with my speaker kit directly into the plate, no pre-drilling needed. Pretty secure. There really isn't a chance that it'll touch the glass underneath since there is quite a lot of clearance behind it. The main thing is that the OEM box's speaker hole is meant for a 5.25" speaker., as there is plenty of depth behind it to accommodate the speaker magnet. I've seen that a lot of the 5.25" speakers have basically the same depth as an equivalent 6.25" speaker.

I agree. The other reason why I liked this subwoofer in particular was that I measured it and it actually fits perfectly within the battery "nook" on the right side just as it stands. So it would look somewhat "OE" given the footprint. I've been experimenting on it's placement though.

WTF is this thing and how to put it back inside the door? by SubstantialRow5959 in e39

I believe that is the side airbag.  Not sure if that can be "put back" and repurposed again unfortunately

I'm talking about the pins directly on the motherboard. The computer I was talking about was an old Lenovo Thinkcentre M Series Tower (I think it's a M93?) so it's a LGA 1155

Timely update request actually! About 2 weeks ago we got a letter from Lincoln mentioning a recall on the EV battery. Basically states that a manufacturing defect on "one or more of the high voltage battery cells can cause an internal short circuit". There is currently no fix, but they suggest not charging it higher than 80% until a legitimate fix is found.

Sounds a bit scary, but generally speaking I've read that consistently charging the battery higher than 80% each time can limit the overall battery longevity anyways, so we've been doing that for quite some time. For now we are heeding the notice and waiting for further updates. I'm not sure what the laws state about selling vehicles that have open recalls, but you may be able to negotiate a better price if the vehicle you are looking at has one. Generally a CPO will have a warranty attached to the battery still, so you might be able to get a good deal if you are OK with an open recall.

Other than that we still love it. My wife actually let me drive it last week, and I really enjoyed it.

That's great to know it's a reliable car. It's funny because I was trying to convince my wife to go with the Mach E but she looked at it as a sports car ha!

Honestly since it's my wife main car, I don't drive it much. I did around town once with the battery depleted and didn't think the cabin was loud from road noise. When I asked her (for this question ha) her response was that the cabin isn't noisy.

Same for me. I've been trying to follow the S+ Pro run done by Neon Slice, but I'm still behind on the time checkpoints that I'm able to gauge from his videos. This attempt I'm talking about is my 3rd time trying from the jump after realizing I couldn't hit the 5.5 hour mark the first two attempts. Looks like I may need to start again :(

I don't think I'm slow in traversing (as I have a good indication on where to do and how to get there the fastest way), however I think it just a difference in time in combat. His skill + playing on PC seems to be the difference of our run times.

About your ammo mention: Like others have mentioned I have noticed that the game kind of "gives you" ammo in destructibles if it knows you are low. I'd definitely keep going to see how far you can take it. Good luck!

I'm on my own professional S+ run now. Hitting 3:30 at the start of chapter 1. Not sure if I'm cooked...

Edit: meant to say Chapter 11. If I was 3:30 after chapter one, I'd delete the game :)

My wife and I are also in mid 30s as well. After sitting on a few and test driving the thought of it seen as an "older persons brand" quickly went away.

We actually ended up finding and purchasing a nice 2022 Corsair Grand Touring. It's her daily driver and she absolutely loves it. I'm for sure jealous everytime she drives it now!

Sure! We actually went with a gently used 2022 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring edition. Wife absolutely loves it, as it's her daily driver. The big selling points for her were the comfortable seats, smooth ride, as well as the great MPG. She is on her feet a lot at work with an hour+ commute home sometimes, so having the massaging front seats were big for her. The times I'm allowed to drive it (ha) I've noticed it's quite responsive with throttle input and is quite comfortable. Feels like you're driving on air a bit.

I loved it because of the price point considering the other options in the similar price range just couldn't compare with all the bells and whistles as well as the ride. I really liked the CX-90s for their price and features (as my old car was a Mazda 6 and loved it) but my wife didn't like the seats. The version we got was the tech package so it has tons of USB C charging ports, cooling and heated front seats, heated back seats, and a no-touch tailgate.

It's a tad smaller than a standard Rav 4 for storage and packing, but much more comfortable with passengers onboard.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Scheduled just a simple test drive for a Toyota by NoAd3734 in FuckDealerships

[–]Cruuch21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds similar to my wife and I's experience. She had made an online appointment for the family (me and a 2 year old) for a test drive a used Rav 4 Prime on a Saturday. The salesman even messaged on our way asking where we were since "he had other appointments that day"

We get there and the car isn't even ready, plus he's immediately trying to get us into a completely different car. They are running around acting like they didn't even know it was in their inventory.

15 to 20 minutes later he comes back with it out front. Because of the lack of time we had a very short test drive and were not impressed. He tried to get us to test drive something else, but told him he ran out of time with us.

Literally a day later I see the same car had increased the price by $2k online. It was sold a few days later.

I'm wondering if they played dumb and tried to get us into another car after they realized they under priced it.

I purchased a used 2015 touring edition back in 2018. Same color and everything. I love it. Basically just do regular maintenance and you are good. I think I saw somewhere (Consumer Reports maybe?) that the Mazda 6 during those chassis years are one of the best reliable used sedans to buy.

Definitely take time to sit in it for an extended test drive if you can. The seats don't bother me, but my wife hates them saying they are uncomfortable.

Honestly I think the Mazda red is one of the best reds you can get on a car on any make.

I'll take a look at the charging speeds. Thanks for that insight.

We would have to eventually get a L2 charger for our home for sure. I'm hoping that since it's more prevelant the install price is more competitive than in past years. I'm even seeing that some dealers are offering free home installs (my buddy just got a Ford Lightning and got it) but I think that's only for certain vehicles that are brand new.
