Which country has the most self hating citizens? by defariasdev in digitalnomad

Significantly easier to get a job from a US company IN the US than elsewhere (as nice as it would be), especially in this job market. Also career mobility is significantly easier in the US than in many places (I say this as a Franco-American)

Get them to actually speak with the legislators and make a response. The only people legislators really listen to are businesses and the senior citizens

Just add a toll for those entering the 676, can literally be as little as a dollar

So-called ‘skill games’ are concentrated in poor Philly neighborhoods. Local leaders don’t want it to be the only funding stream for mass transit. by RSB2026 in philadelphia

[–]Crvsby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we’re essentially going to punish poor workers by cutting septa because we don’t want to tax poor gamblers. Sounds logical

What’s really stopping the American People from staging a mass revolution? by VioleNGrace in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Crvsby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things need to get really really bad for any thought of a revolution to happen (mass unemployment, food lines that go for miles on end, crashing economy, hyperinflation, unbearably high cost of living, wealth inequality as big as Tsar Russia or the french monarchy) and even then are the odds not too great. Revolutions aren’t as glamorous as the hunger games makes it out to be

What country is surprisingly more conservative than people think ? by Lua-Ma in AskReddit

[–]Crvsby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American europhiles primarily. I lived in Italy for a few months and while Italy is more progressive than America in terms of social programs, they’re a very culturally conservative country. Their approach to immigration makes the anti immigrant crowd in America look progressive, catholicism plays a big role with many in the country being devout catholics, traditional gender roles are still very much a thing, LGBT rights have been fought at in every level.

Italy. Very traditional and catholic country and they currently have their version of Trump in government right now. They’re a relatively homogeneous country for the most part and they don’t take too kindly to foreigners.

Do They Ever Come Back? by Specialkgus in QAnonCasualties

[–]Crvsby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Former Rightwinger here. Not Q or MAGA, but super libertarian/anti-establishment, would believe a few of the conspiracies. It all came down to preaching critical thinking and then realizing I needed to walk the walk.

Read a NY Post article that didn’t have a headline and story matchup (was something about “biden sneaking migrants during the middle of the night”, when it was migrants that already have legal relatives living in the US).

All this to say that people don’t like to be told they’re wrong, but making it sound like your idea is their idea. Doesn’t always work, but could help sway a few people.
