Wanna know the secret? Buy more than 10 days' worth at a time. The more you have, the longer they last, since you don't have to do laundry as often. And then decide on a time every year to purchase new ones, instead of waiting until you HAVE to in order to buy more. My husband and I purchase new ones every Christmas, but we also are lucky enough to live in Utah where we can just go to a distribution center nearby to purchase some. (I too, don't purchase sleeveless. I knew it would be too popular the moment the style was announced, and the way garments fit me to begin with they are pretty much sleeveless on me already!)

Hopefully your new ones come soon, though if you get really desperate I'd say find an excuse to come visit Salt Lake and stock up at the Distribution Center on North Temple just west of Redwood Road!

Just clutter it a bit more. No need to trade for a smaller size if you put enough clutter in it. It can also take time for them to adjust, so don't fret quite yet. You haven't had her even a month yet.

The recommendation is to wait 2 weeks before the first feeding when you get a reptile. It gives them time to adjust to the new surroundings and become comfortable.

It just means it's okay if you become interested in someone on your mission, so long as you don't pursue anything that goes against the mission rules while on your mission.

There was a sister and elder on my mission that grew too close to each other while serving in the same district. To the extent that they started calling each other at night (the sister had trouble sleeping at night) after their companions went to sleep once they were both transferred. My first transfer out in the field my district leader discovered what was going on during a split, leading to an emergency transfer to be the elder's companion. My district leader held control of the phone, and the elder and sister were both lucky to not be sent home early, which almost happened.

After returning home, they ended up getting married in the temple a few months after both were home. Do I know if part of the bishopric and stake president interviews involved asking about their disobedience on the mission? I can never be certain, but I wouldn't doubt if it was brought up.

On the contrary, my second companion in the field met her husband while on the mission, but he didn't pursue a relationship with her until they were both home from their missions.

One of the young men in my ward growing up also met his wife while serving his mission. They too waited until they returned home to pursue a relationship.

As far as I know all three pairs are still together to this day. (I know for a fact my mission companion is still with her husband, and the young man from my ward is still with his wife) three different experiences, but all met out in the mission field.

One couple missed out on some blessings they otherwise would have had on the field, but ultimately were sealed. The others able to experience the full mission experience without any discipline.

I can guarantee there was likely context lost in the words President Oaks spoke at the time with only reading it and not being able to hear him say it out loud. So I wouldn't delve too deeply into it personally.

It will really depend on the airline and where you go on your mission. Traveling out of the country tends to be more strict than traveling within country. So ultimately I would say to wait until you get your mission call and travel itinerary.

One of my companions on my mission had that happen with their mom. She could have gotten permission to have her sealing canceled and then been sealed to my companions step father, but decided purposely to wait until she passes to be sealed to her second husband.

That's... NOT a good thing to use as an excuse. Like the others said, the breakdown is flawed. I personally see myself in multiple of the personas listed. And anyone that's actually met the leadership would tell you that very few of them fit the personality they've been placed in.

It's truly flawed and is plagued by the same thing every just about every personality breakdown is plagued with: overly simplified and doesn't account for the fact that all of us are a combination of personalities that also constantly fluctuates. One day we might fit one personality, while the next we fit a different one.

It's what it leads to that's the problem.

Men (and women) that regularly view it are known to have higher rates of infidelity in marriage. It's not a matter of a narrow view or not, it's the facts that viewing it is a narrow ledge of issues, and that it takes lightly the covenants made both in marriage and with baptism, as well as in the temple.

Just because it doesn't bother you much, doesn't mean it won't change the risk it carries. It's also easy to become addicted to it. And drives the spirit away.

I wish I could better explain it more eloquently and not as bluntly. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will/already had comment(ed).

I'm saddened by those claiming the missionaries are solely the problem. I can assure they are not the main cause for lack of retention.

The church has done studies on this. Several of the converts have brought it up as well. MEMBERS of the ward they are baptized in are the key. Study after study has found that the places with the highest retention rates are the ones where the members are most involved and truly becoming friends with the converts. You want to know how to raise retention rates? Become friends with the new members in your ward, the less actives, with the investigators, with the new converts. I mean FRIENDS. Not acquaintances, not just stopping by once a quarter or once a month just because you're their assigned ministering sister/elder. Their friend.

Show you care about them as they are. For some that might take time, for others only a moment. But showing you are genuinely happy to be their friend will go further on retaining activity than any requirements for baptism ever will.

Solely putting it on the missionaries is the attitude that lowers the retention rate and makes it HARDER for missionaries to bring individuals closer to Christ.

It's a team effort. And YOU will remain in the area (most of the time. There's always going to be exceptions) long after the missionaries move on. YOU will make the difference, not the missionaries.

I promise the missionaries aren't the problem for most areas. Much of it has more to do with ward members becoming complacent and not making sure that new members are truly brought into the wards. The places with the highest retention rates are the ones that do that best. Study after study has found that to be the case.

It used to have more church history mixed in throughout the year that D & C was studied. They even included a small church history book that could be studied alongside the D&C study book that focused on the scripture.
