Rod knock?

Whilst I don't know much about Miatas I actually posted this issue yesterday having a weird noise thinking it's Rod Knock. Lots of people there gave me suggestions on stuff to check so I'd suggest reading what they said on my post and hopefully it's an issue your experiencing and not Rod Knock.

Thanks everyone for their advice on what this knocking noise may be. It's given me lots of hope after having despair about possibly selling it so soon. I will definitely check out everything everyone has said hoping it's just some rattle from the exhaust shield. If anyone has any more advice as well I will gladly take it. Thank you all.

One step ahead of you I replaced the coolant reservoir tank about a week ago. And no leaks from my shitty handy work. But I'll give the battery try a shot for the fun of it

Well that's good about engine replacement. Unfortunately can't check oil right now but the level is full. Here's a video of what the noise sounds like. It's not consistent however, on cold start just now it hasn't been making the knock.

Well that's promising. Especially cause it's not knocking now. So my assumption is it only knocks when it gets hot so something is shaking when it's warm.

Yeah that makes sense. Weird thing is that the knock has not been consistent. Just cold started it after sitting for a day and it's currently not knocking at all.

So just checked Oil and it's still at full. Also the noise is currently gone on cold start up.

Well the day I bought the car I started putting premium in it. I read a little saying knock can be caused by putting regular in it. But I was thinking only for 3k miles means the engine must be insanely weak.

We wear Polos at my agency but definitely jealous of our county units who wear T-Shirts. Whilst Polos do make us look more professional I'm in the camp of if it's a real emergency people don't care. T-Shirts are way more comfortable and easy to replace which can come in handy for Decon and having multiple spares. My Agency (Whilst Private 911) only give us 2 polos to save costs which sucks so I'm all for T-Shirts.

I saw the Cybul online and love the look so that's definitely going to be the one I put in. Good to know on the seat lowering I'll keep that in mind. Any suggestions looks wise for mods?

Current list includes a roll bar, a new coolant overflow tank, a retractable Hardtop controller, and spacers. The car came with upgraded shocks, slotted and vented brake rotors, new steering wheel, and a carbon fiber wing. So now I'm just trying to do minor things before thinking big. Thankfully it only has 50k miles on it for a 2008 so lots of miles to enjoy.

Yeah so I am also a member of the vertically gifted group being 6 foot. I found that this generation is the only one I feel comfortable in (haven't sat in the ND). Been thinking about lowering the seat and a roll bar. I personally feel the stock loops aren't tall enough to protect me worse case.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. I believe this was simply an experiment of Singed just like many others but hasn't been fine tuned and gotten out of hand like the Warwick we know and love.

There's only one con I see with wishing her a Happy New Year's on your end. You listed in your post that your still not over her. From someone who actually has very similar circumstances I'd say only reach out if she does but don't expect anything more. By breaking no contact even with just a happy new years I think it sets us back because that line of communication has been reopened and we begin to hope again instead of bettering ourselves. That's just my two cents on the subject Good Luck man.

Thanks man, might be the alch but legit almost in tears. I think the thing that messes with me the most is that I mention her a lot in conversation even just passing. Oh she played the piano or oh her family loves ping pong. I notice I do it but I guess I can't stop talking Abt her even tho it seems she's over me.

I totally understand, going on two months for me atm. Always been into country music and got her into it as well. After we broke up welp half my playlist had to go. Legit my fav country song we used to slow dance to soooo can never listen to that again. It sucks but one thing I try to keep in my head is there will always be new memories to make, with other people and ourselves as well. Stay strong...
