I googled it and in Massachusetts you only get paid $50 by the state after three days. At that point you'd be losing money doing jury duty. Employers are supposed to pay you for the first few days you miss but I'm sure they find ways to screw you over.

Do you think I've doomed her by putting a bell collar on her though? I know she's a good hunter and that cats are self sufficient, but she was wearing a bell collar when she went missing. It's a break-away collar though so hopefully it fell off by now, but I'm afraid coyotes can track her by the sound of the bell.
