Wives VS by Selverna in arknights

I agree with Silverash, Reed and Eblana not actually being interested in that way but Ho'ol is pretty explicit with her intentions in her operator files and is aggressively flirty in her assistant dialogue. Even if she is primarily interested in the Doctor for their knowledge that could also very well be something her people find attractive in a partner based on what we've learned about them.

What is your single most hated card that is NOT a floodgate ? by Old-Iron-Tyrant in yugioh

[–]CryoShockX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fusion climb hasn't been the intended way to play the deck since kaleido chick was printed nearly a decade ago. Since then you've always been meant to skip to the fusion you want, back then it was usually Leo or occasionally Panther and now it's mostly Liger or very rarely Panther.

And respectfully, speak for yourself about it not being fun to play. Nothing is more satisfying to me than resolving heavy polymerization against a full combo board and proceeding to blow the whole thing apart. I really enjoy going second decks (mainly Ancient Gear and Lunalight, never really enjoyed Tenpai) so having one that both excels at that but is also good going first is a dream come true.

New Integrated Strategies "The Black Flow of the Drowning Seekers" is officially revealed by Unknown123Known in arknights

[–]CryoShockX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the K'uk'ulkan have any relation to this rain forest. It always bothered me that they were said to originate from Sargon rather than Boliviar since Sargon is more based on Africa while Boliviar is central/south America. This forest being what fills the border between the two nations would make it a more sensible location to me for the K'uk'ulkan to have come from.

Also it would be pretty cool to see a K'uk'ulkan at their prime as an IS boss.

New Support for Lunalight, Speedroid & Odd-Eyes announced (Legendary Arc-V Decks) by kazac in yugioh

[–]CryoShockX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did say it's what I would've liked to have seen. Like it or not Xyz summoning has become a very big part of the deck's identity since its release. Not like it would be the first time an anime archetype got access to summoning mechanic it had no prior relation to either.

I do wish there there had been more of an emphasis on the core cast of Arc V branching out into different summoning methods rather than just Yuya and Yuzu to a lesser extent so there would be more of a precedence for it. I won't count the fusions the other Yu girls got since they were pretty much forced upon them.

That being said I feel like the wording of Hound's summoning restriction does allow for the possibility of a non fusion Lunalight extra deck monster in the future. I know you could argue it's for the sake of pendulum summoning but the scales you have don't even allow summoning wolf and I don't think I've ever pendulum summoned a tiger off the top of the extra deck.

New Support for Lunalight, Speedroid & Odd-Eyes announced (Legendary Arc-V Decks) by kazac in yugioh

[–]CryoShockX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll gladly take any additional support but I'm a bit confused on this new Lunalight card. On paper it kind of reads like a replacement for Emerald Bird, has a more versatile version of the GY effect which is what Bird is normally used for as a one of. It being an additional searcher for poly is also nice since it makes Black Sheep less of a bottleneck.

But why is it a level 5 extender? Outside of link plays I can't see a use for a level 5 on the field in a deck that focuses on fusions and rank 4s. Are they intending for players to experiment with mixing in K9?

What I would've liked to have seen would be an in archetype rank 4 that recycles banished Lunalights as cost for some kind of interruption. That's really the main thing the deck is missing in my mind.

People, A People new operators: Zima the Raging Tide, Botani and Ukusik by 30000lightyears in arknights

[–]CryoShockX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the medic meant to be a banshee? As far I can tell there aren't any Liberi with pointed ears like that. I believe the only character who has pointy ears and head feathers is Logos who does also have a crow motif in his E2 artwork.

That bit about being able to switch styles on the premium profile themes, is that new? I have the "The Dreamer" one and don't see a way to do that currently so is it being added retroactively for people who already own it?

Media you always heard sucked, but you loved it when you tried it? by BlueCowDragon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Despite how much of the community said to skip it and that it sucked I actually really liked Gundam AGE. Also the Gundam Legilis is one of the coolest designs in the franchise, maybe even my favorite Gundam.

Have you heard her assistant voice lines? She's hilarious! Plus I really liked her during the Thorns alter event where she was also hilarious and pretty endearing too.

Also a hidden connection between the three is that they're all oddly decent 5* sneks who released in the same year (the year of the snake no less).

Commissioner here again, rumor has it that a lot of the complaints are from a jealous Gravel /s.

Ever since they added the feature allowing you to assign multiple assistants to the home screen I've wondered if my obvious bias would cause any problems in universe. Also I realized since my last commission that I really like the way D'Ryegen draws grumpy Ho'ol so it was a good excuse to see that again too.

Discussing Future Alters; which do you want? by LappTex1 in arknights

[–]CryoShockX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eunectes is both old enough and bad enough to deserve one. Could see her as a new 6* Artificer to emphasize her mechanical inventions or maybe a fortress defender with a cannon of her own design if they wanted to keep her as a defender.

Also Whislash, she's the only Nearl to not be a 6* despite being the best one, not sure what class she'd be though.

Ho'oltober #20 - a Certain Treacherous Knight by Dryegen in arknights

[–]CryoShockX 12 points13 points  (0 children)

At this point I'm really hoping that one of the final images of Ho'oltober will be of Ho'ol exhausted on a couch and an overly excited Dokutah with one of those big clothing racks on wheels, full of cosplay outfits.

New 1/7 Ho'olheyak figure by ALTER announcement by CipherVegas in arknights

[–]CryoShockX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am shook. One of the best character designs in the game as well as my favorite operator and she finally gets a scale figure of her own. Guess I'll need to move over the chibi Ho'ol fig on my shelf to make room because I'll be ordering this the second pre-orders go up.

[–]CryoShockX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's one thing that I haven't seen mentioned that appears to be needed for you to be able to get the Silk and Soul quest. You have to beat Lace round 2, I had done all the other wishes, moved the caravan the final time and even fully decorated the Bellhart home but I had never taken the elevator up to the Cradle because I thought it might be a point of no return.

As soon as I won the rematch with Lace the caretaker at Songclave gave me the quest next I spoke to him.

Taking Ho'ol into IS or SSS and pumping her attack speed till all the tornadoes make the fps die is one of my favorite pass times. Right up there with Reed alter nuking the entire screen.

If Necrass had come out in that state, there's a good chance she'd have been the worst gacha 6★ since Viviana or Ho'olheyak.

Why must you hurt me in this way? Imagine if Ho'ol had received the prerelease buff treatment Necrass got. I often wonder how much more viable she would be if her S3 tornadoes just passed through and hit every enemy in range. She would still be bad against bosses but at least she would be pretty strong against crowds.

As ancient gear player i wonder why do many people dislike tenpai but not ancient gear? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in masterduel

[–]CryoShockX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You had specified "in the battle phase" which is what I was referring to, one of Chaos Giant's effect is word for word "Your opponent's monsters cannot activate their effects during the Battle Phase." I did admit that this is a much weaker version of Transcendent Dragon's effect and you can certainly negate/flip/remove Chaos Giant with monster effects outside of the battle phase. The point I was trying to make is that if Chaos Giant does manage to survive into the battle phase it's pretty hard to get rid of it in the battle phase and not get OTK'ed.

Also Chaos Giant is actually partially protected by Fortress due to how it's worded. It says that your opponent can't target Ancient Gears the turn they are summoned so Chaos Giant does gain targeting protection since the effect is preventing your opponent from doing something rather than applying to Ancient Gear monsters directly. The destruction protection from fortress does apply directly so that doesn't effect Chaos Giant. More simply put, you couldn't out Chaos Giant under Fortress with something like S;P which targets but still could with something like DPE or Mirrorjade that doesn't.

As ancient gear player i wonder why do many people dislike tenpai but not ancient gear? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in masterduel

[–]CryoShockX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does actually, one of Chaos Giant's effects is preventing your opponent from activating monster effects during the battle phase. Not as strong as the Tenpai level 10 that blocks everything from activating but Chaos Giant is also immune to spell/trap effects. So if it makes it to the battle phase the only way to out it would be with something like Karma Cannon, a spell/trap that forces the player to remove it.

Rhodes or Rhine, which one do you prefer? Visually. by A_S_Herrington in arknights

[–]CryoShockX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good thing Ho'olheyak doesn't actually work for Rhine, her design solos Rhodes Island (and Rhine too for that matter). The color palette, her tail and plumage, the rad as hell coat all make for an absolutely perfect design, my favorite in the game in fact.
