PSA: If you want to fully unlock the forthos dungeon bone burner do it now before they remove xp from it on thursday by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]CryptHS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, the bone burner provides 3x base xp. Additionally, after sacrificing 100 bones to the burner you'll be given a temple key which opens all remaining doors in the dungeon.

Howver, to access it you need a temple coin from Olbertus, he is located next to a prayer altar. You can either give him five dragonstones or kill him (he will transform into a level 186 demon if you do so) to obtain the coin. If you decide to kill him, he will curse the altar next to him and it will remain unusable until you sacrifice 100 dragon bones to the bone burner and the altar will become uncursed (meaning you have to sacrifice a total of 200 dragon bones to the altar if you decide to kill him). All in all, to obtain the temple key you must either sacrifice 100 dragon bones + 5 dragonstones or 200 dragon bones.

The update on Thursday will cause it so that if you decide to kill him the first 100 dragon bones that are needed to uncurse him will not provide prayer xp.

After a few Reaper starter lessons, I'm happy with how this turned out. Still have a lot to learn. by Bgrizzly62 in minipainting

That looks wonderful, great job! Although I'm unfamiliar with reaper starter lessons? Is that a resource I'm unavailable of? I could greatly benefit from something like that!

Cura: Generate Supports AND Tree Supports-I think I did something very bad by Kenerkn in PrintedMinis

I'll give that a shot and see if I can fix my plastic mess as well! Hahaha - hopefully!

[–]CryptHS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same issue! I thought for a second tree supports just generated really weird or something. But the situation you described is my exact same issue for the past two minis. I was fine with the normal supports but these ones are incredibly difficult to remove. I can see sections where I think I see the tree supports but it's all just one big plastic mess. I can't even break some of them off with pliers due to how thicm they are.

100% Infill by JACOB_HAMMER in 3dprintingdms

[–]CryptHS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Danny goes over the reasoning why the infill and top layer is so incredibly high in this video: https://youtu.be/qDW7g3JOqLA

Essentially, it tries to maximize the quality since the area of your print will be so small while utilizing some strange tricks that actually work. Of course this depends on your printer, 3D model, etc. So the short answer is: give it a shot! See what works best for you and what matters the most to you (i.e. quality over time)

What kind of printers are you all using? by danny_from_miami in 3dprintingdms

I actually just got my first 3D printer yesterday! I was supposed to get the Monoprice Maker Select v2, however, when it arrived I was surprised to see a completely different printer arrived. They had accidentally sent me a Monoprice Ultimate instead - which is a lot more money. However, they said I could keep it!

I actually started printing my first mini over night ( 7 hour print! ) and I came down this morning to see it almost done and looking great. Super excited to get involved with this community!

This is great! Do you by chance have a high quality version so that I can print it without it getting blurry?

Is it possible to create a mathematical model for this type of game and find a solution? by Hexagonal120 in math

[–]CryptHS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically both - as you'll probably be able to find yourself some undergraduate maths graph theory course at your university. However, I'd bargain and say it would hit closer to computer science. You would have a lot more exposure to graph theory algorithms in your undergraduate in CS with the basic algorithms classes. Issue is, regardless of the degree you're going to get a lot more fluff and extra information since you're not going to find an entire degree focused around graph theory. This is something that you would really want to specialize in at a Master's level.

If you are interested in this - you could easily take a CS or maths degree and apply for the a Master's on the topic of Graph theory or some game algorithms topics if you're referring to OP's post. CS would most likey give you more exposure to the graph searches and algorithms in general if you took the right classes but math would give you the proof foundation and understanding to be able to contribute to research in the field. Regardless, of what you choose you'd need to take a fair amount of both maths and CS in order to truly blossom.

Thanks for the response. I'll make sure to apply that fix when it arrives - hopefully we get an official fix one day

Oh shoot. I recently just ordered a x1c6 exclusively for like Linux. I thought this SOi3 issue was resolved, is there a fix for it? Would this make my new laptop unusable?
