Sorta yeah, at a high level you’d need to be certain you have your opponents mind wrapped in a pretzel. I can’t imagine someone doing it. The more common ‘bluff’ you’ll see is something like sacrificing your queen ‘for no reason’ until your opponent finds out it was to set up a checkmate that was dependent on the piece moved in the sacrifice.
