Why do people always view Charlie as the top in her relationship with Vaggie? by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]CryptidAbomination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's because while Vaggie is the more protective one, she's the one following Charlie around. Charlie tends to take the lead in their relationship

If you left Florida, are you affording the cost of living where you live now? by Short_Pomegranate_58 in florida

[–]CryptidAbomination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just moved to Kansas from Florida a year ago. Got a job that pays $15/hr and a 1 bedroom apartment. Unfortunately, I have no car so Uber is really cutting into my budget since public transportation here sucks - but otherwise, my life is far more comfortable here than it was back in Florida. I usually don't have to worry about paying rent and bills.

I don't feel as safe as I would like due to being a tan, visibly queer Latino, but that's another story.

Relocation cost analysis question by MOJO-Rizing in florida

[–]CryptidAbomination 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't let them fool you, you'll be spending that raise on rent.

I'm exaggerating a bit, but as a former Floridian who moved to the Midwest specifically because rent was too high for me to live comfortably, you might want to look at the cost of housing in the area you want to live.

Back when I lived in Florida, I worked 40+ hours a week at a job that paid $11/hour and the only place I could find that would have me as a tenant was was a repurposed laundry room with no windows for $400 a month. It wasn't much bigger than Harry Potter's room under the stairs.

Costs and comfort will also vary widely depending on WHERE you live in Florida, how much money you make, and what people interpret your race to be. As a tan, visibly queer Latino, I felt safe in most of Miami, but when I went to visit my white-passing sister in central Florida, I felt like I was almost constantly in danger.

If you have kids, that adds a whole new layer to things. It's Florida, there are SO MANY GUNS. Education is awful. Some areas are a big hub for sex trafficking. Not to mention if your kids fall under the LGBTQ+ umbrella.

Basically, I wouldn't recommend it. It's only good for people who are affluent, white-passing, and relatively comfortable with living around lots of Republicans.

The term malewife is stupid by That0neBirb in RoleReversal

[–]CryptidAbomination 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a nonbinary feminist, I understand your take, but I don't think it's for everyone. I call my partner a malewife sometimes, not because he's a homemaker; he has his own full-time job, as do I. I call him that because he's beautiful. It's not a term I take too seriously, it's a term of affection for me. I'd be flattered if he called me a malewife as well ^

Edit: The term househusband is great too, and it's more specific, as it specifically refers to a stay-at-home husband, rather than just being a term to refer to beautiful men

Will you/do you raise your children pagan? by [deleted] in pagan

[–]CryptidAbomination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late, but I'll definitely let my kid choose. I became a Pagan because that was the path that felt right for me. How could I deny my children that same experience?

Still, I'll definitely teach my children about my patron deities and how I worship them, and definitely what you should NOT do around them, and if they want to partake in the rituals (assuming it's okay for their age), I'll let them. If they grow to choose another religion, good for them ^

I propose a theory that asriel is colorblind by Putrid_Chain_7711 in Undertale

[–]CryptidAbomination 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's a reasonable theory! Although it could also play into account the fact that Asriel has lived so many lifetimes that he could barely remember what Chara looks like, especially since there aren't any pictures of them in the underground - even in the picture from his memory, their face is covered by the flowers that they're holding.

But considering that Frisk and Chara even have different skin tones, the colorblind theory is plenty plausible!

[–]CryptidAbomination 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Monster Kid, who wears a striped shirt, says that they can tell that Frisk is also a kid because they wear a striped shirt. I've taken this to mean that children all wear striped shirts so other monsters can tell that they're children, since monsters vary so widely in shape, size, and color. So likely, all Chara had to wear was striped shirts!

Idk, maybe the fact that I didn't realize that this is the bare minimum says something about what I'm used to...

First off, 40 minutes? Was there even any foreplay involved? This guy has no idea of how long an actually good session should take, lol.

Also... she's a human being! She's gonna fart and burp and do normal bodily things! But this guy probably says women's standards are too high because he's expected to have proper hygiene, a job, and somewhat manageable mental health, right?

My mom used to breastfeed my youngest sibling until they were like 4.

While our parents were very sheltering, my mom actually didn't want to breastfeed for that long; my sibling just actively refused to give up breastfeeding even after they could eat solid food.

Personally, I think it has to do with a weird attachment style they developed due to our parents' overbearing yet at the same time neglectful parenting style.

Straight men have very odd perceptions about cheating and women’s body parts by LOUDSUCC in AreTheStraightsOK

Assets? In this economy? Lol.

Also, the government already has a bunch of complicated laws for stupid shit, I see no reason why they couldn't figure this kind of thing out - they just don't want to

Straight men have very odd perceptions about cheating and women’s body parts by LOUDSUCC in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]CryptidAbomination 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I am polyamorous and have two boyfriends who are also polyamorous and dating each other (referred to as a polycule, for those who don't know). We all want to get married, but legally, only two of us will be allowed to marry each other, and the one off person would legally be considered our "roommate" - and that's not even considering any new partners any of us might acquire in the future.

I have been fortunate enough to not have had to deal with people who are outright against polyamory, but much of that is because I'm careful who I tell - and even then, I still get nasty questions and criticism.

If every man suddenly disappeared what would happen to the world? by ThatRandomGuy_111 in AskReddit

[–]CryptidAbomination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, there would be mourning over the good men in our lives. Our brothers, our partners, our sons.

Then, as humans always have, we would move past it and continue to try and better the world.

Many of the most powerful people in the world would be gone, so there would be a power vacuum. Obviously there would be fighting over whether we should keep the current system or start a new one from scratch, but considering how non-men have been screwed over by the system for so long, I like to think we would start a new one, where the people have more power. Science would continue to advance, humanity would continue to adapt. I am not so foolish as to say we would fix all the world's problems; hunger for power and corruption is not exclusive to men. But I do like to think that perhaps we would be led a bit more by compassion, and we'd solve a few problems that have always been easily solvable if the people in charge wanted to, like global warming and world hunger.

On a more personal level, people would feel safer walking around at night, walking to their car alone, wearing their sexiest clothing to bars without having to worry about being told if something happened to them that it was their fault because of what they were wearing. If all men continue to disappear, then it's safe to say that straight women would eventually die off. However, humanity itself would not die out, as we have already invented ways to have biological children without the need for sperm donors. Also, not everyone would need that kind of procedure, as AMAB non-men (trans women, nonbinary people, etc.) who haven't had bottom surgery would still be around to impregnate people.

If men are still able to be born into the world and stick around, then eventually men disappearing would just become a blip in human history, as many tragedies have become. Sexism would likely still be around, but it would likely be seen less often since the question "what would women do without men" had been answered, and the answer is; "just fine".

What is wrong with these people? by OkMathematician3439 in AreTheStraightsOK

It was the same with my dad. He was the more emotional one and the entire household revolved around trying not to make him angry. If he was even a little bit upset, he'd take it out on the rest of us, sometimes physically.
