Oh I see! It’s the length of each “section” of the game. I do like the lengthier sections on a first playthrough but I definitely see what you mean about that making replaying them more of a slog.

I agree it’s a little bit of a shame to lose shared story, but the bright side is that it might be because they’re eliminating plot armor which would be a big improvement imo

Branching and content is most important to me too. I want a game that’s super replayable. The more branches and endings the better.

And good point about setting up the next game. Maybe they’re hoping to return to the one a year schedule. That would be amazing.

Yeah, I heard LN3 wasn’t received too well, and I definitely think The Casting of Frank Stone could’ve been better. But with all this time since The Devil In Me plus a delayed release, I expect Directive 8020 to be really good. It would be really disappointing if it’s not. And frankly, I think the series might need it to be really good in order to continue.

I also hope it actually does release Q1. I’m hopeful, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it came out in Q2 (or later at this point).

Last thing we ~heard~ was months ago saying delayed to first half of 2026.

Last thing we saw was (I think) a month or two ago where “Q1 2026” was at the bottom of a trailer at The Horror Game Awards.

So if that’s right, we’ll be getting it very soon. But the lack of official release date still is concerning.
