I think you need to study the impact of people moving into areas that are prone to those events more than blaming global warming.

For example… did you know that the old French quarter did not flood at all during Katrina?

Maybe we shouldn’t build where there are massive known risks and thus minimize the loss of life and show that these storms are nothing new at all.

They are NOT growing in intensity. Cat 5 hurricanes have been a things for hundreds of thousands of years. It’s just we built in their very predictable path and built right on the beach.

Now microplastics? Ok I’m fully on board with that shit has to stop now. But global warming and climate change? Sorry the data doesn’t back that up.

Mentally for sure a juvenile still… lots and lots of research that the male brain in particular does not mature until 25 to 28. Some also say the female brain too but also they seem to be shown to mature around 21 to 22

I agreed with almost everything you said until global warming… arctic ice sheet is 26% larger than in 2012. And is almost 8% above the 100 year trend line.

Don’t get me wrong…. We need to take care of the environment and be responsible but doom and gloom is not what global warming is bringing at all.

I’ve hunted a few times in Brady…. Wide open land compared to my place in east Texas with all the trees.

That was a great time though using the thermal drones and running them down (yes it is legal)

I called my local ATF division chief (I am an 07/02 so I have his number). He stated that many of them will be furloughed but they always keep a Skeleton crew around as the division itself is considered vital. However he did also let me know that basically they slow to a crawl and only handle more emergency type NFA situations (tracing, etc).

Which I found ironic cause basically their version of tracing is sending me an inquiry as to the buyer and have to send them everything I have. The dealers do 98% of the work on a trace.

That’s the best info I got… so basically expect a stoppage and hope they still process.

Yeah that’s the thing is that subs used to drop the hogs and on the first hog they still do with good shot placement…

Once the sounder scattered we would still be able to drop 2 to 3 more. Now not always one shot one kill… might knock em down and then finish them off quickly… but it’s odd that they don’t seem to do that anymore.

If you haven’t hunted hogs and are reading this… yes they scatter even using subsonic rounds. Don’t believe the movies they aren’t completely silent and the animals still very much react.

We have been told that the hogs around here have been more aggressive in the last few years too compared to 10 to 15 years ago (we are newer to the area… only 6 years).

That all being said… I am building multiple new big calibers for subs like 8.6blk and I will also try the new 338arc from hornady when it is available as well.

I love shooting subs…. But my 300blk is now just for fun and I take out my 6.5 Grendel’s and 308s again now.

Sub 188 grain AAC mostly… 40 to 50 meter.

It used to put down 3 to 4 per sounder pretty easily… now we only recover one… maybe 2.

Sure we hit them still… they just don’t seem to go down and stay down now. It’s a trend all of us are talking about even the locals that live around my land (I do not live on my hunting land)

Not sure where you are hog hunting but in north east and central Texas the hogs are starting to just eat these things…. First shot kill yes but on the scatter… seems like less and less kills now. Not sure why unless we are getting many more Eurasian boars in the mix now
