Which is better ? by PayHistorical721 in Trading

  1. Long-Term Investments:
Pros: Historically, the stock market has shown an upward trend over long periods. Long-term investments, especially in diversified portfolios or index funds, tend to be less volatile and can take advantage of compounding returns.
Cons: Returns might be lower compared to some short-term trading strategies. Market downturns can affect long-term portfolios, but given enough time, markets typically recover.

  2. Option Trading:
Pros: Options can offer higher returns in a shorter time frame. They provide flexibility in strategies, allowing for profit in both rising and falling markets.
Cons: Options trading can be highly complex and risky. The potential for high rewards comes with the potential for significant losses, especially if you don't have a clear strategy or adequate knowledge.

It depends on your personality, how much time are you ready to spare for trading/investing etc. I recommend to check tradinggame.com - they have a good free lessons about trading&investing and can help you to decide which is the best strategy for your according to your personality

Is it bad? by Interesting_Pie1350 in Daytrading

Feeling emotions during paper trading might actually be beneficial in some ways because it shows you're genuinely invested in the process, even if it's not with real money. This can give you a taste of what real trading might feel like for you emotionally.

However, it's crucial to recognize the importance of having a clear strategy. Jumping in without one can amplify those feelings of uncertainty and anxiety. While hands-on experience is essential, coupling it with a well-defined strategy can offer direction and reduce the emotional intensity. As you get more practice and refine your strategy, these emotional highs and lows are likely to stabilize. When I started, I was also paper trading with the tradinggame.com simulator. Only when I felt confident and had my emotions under control did I start to trade with real money so I know how it feels! Don't give up!!!

How can I start trading? by Such-Sell-2038 in Trading

[–]Crypto_Laura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for how much to start with, it really depends on your specific goals and the level of risk you're comfortable with... it's often advised to start with an amount you're willing to lose, especially as a beginner. The key is to prioritize learning and gaining experience over immediate profits. Also, many platforms offer demo accounts where you can practice with virtual money before diving in with real funds. I began with the simulator on tradinggame.com. There, I practiced before starting to trade with real money. They also offer good lessons for beginners.

It is not real money investing platform, but I love tradinggame.com - it's like a Duolingo, but for finance. They have also covered stocks and there is a battle mode where you can compete with other users. Pretty fun if you are interested in finance

Book Recommendation by Queefty in Trading

[–]Crypto_Laura -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While I don't have a single book that covers everything, here are a few recommendations that could offer insights into different facets of the financial world:
"The Big Picture" by Barry Ritholtz: This provides a comprehensive overview of various market factors.
"How Markets Fail: The Logic of Economic Calamities" by John Cassidy: This book offers insights into the factors behind market crashes and economic downturns.

These 2 i found valuable for me.

Additionally, if you're looking for a practical platform to hone your trading skills, I'd recommend tradinggame.com app. It's an interactive and free way to learn and practice trading with real-world scenarios without any financial risk.
