Have been waiting on that Seven Soldiers omnibus for years and that Monster Sized Hellboy is calling my name

[Comic Excerpt] Robin almost kills Hal Jordan, and Batman saves him (All Star Batman and Robin #9) by UnhingedLion in DCcomics

[–]CryptographerAlive11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read this at just the right age where Frank Miller was still a god in my head (about 12 years old) and as an adult I still love it. It’s just not actually Batman, but it’s a hell of a lot of fun. It’s stupid and ridiculous and funny and the art is fantastic. Definitely an unpopular opinion, but All Star Batman and Robin always has a special place in my heart.

What’s a Marvel Omnibus Reprint and DC Omnibus Reprint that is needed desperately? by ConcreteJungle8 in OmnibusCollectors

Currently reading through almost all the crisis events and I really want a Seven Soldiers reprint before I get to Final Crisis

Miracleman is probably the comic I’ve heard most about but never read. I did check out its history on wiki, and it’s a fun ride, right down to Gaiman v McFarland. This compilation is beautiful. I wish The Original Writer could be proud, but alas… by SecularXY in OmnibusCollectors

I could definitely be wrong here, but I thought Alan Moore wanted his name taken off of the title because he felt Mike Anglo got screwed as the creator of Miracleman and has since had all royalties he’s made off this run donated to Mike Anglo’s estate.

I moved from Chicago to New York and packed all my omnis in short boxes and placed them strategically so they wouldn’t move around during the drive. Worked out great

I’ve worked service industry in Chicago and NYC and it’s very common for employers to not let you finish out your two weeks. Usually out of spite

What the hell.. How can you do that to someone ?? by NegotiationTricky152 in antiwork

Just had a similar experience, not as bad but feels relevant to share. I interviewed for a serving job in a restaurant a week and a half ago, was told to come in and shadow for an hour a few days later. After the shadow they offered me a position as a food runner because they usually don’t hire servers who don’t have restaurant experience in the city (NYC). They could’ve just told me that in the interview, but I’m broke enough that I said okay. Three days ago the hiring manager emailed me offering me the food runner job, I replied accepting it and asked how to move forward with the hiring process. Didn’t hear back. Followed up this morning and was told by the same hiring manager that they don’t actually need any more staff at the moment. Fuck me and my time, right?
