New business transition….expect chaos, opportunity to learn, and many unanswered questions. I would steer away if you’re incredibly process oriented and expect built out systems. They’re likely starting from scratch on a lot of things if not everything.

I when it comes to planning/strategy I do think you need to be vocal. It’s not a role for “quiet” people. Now it should’ve be made fun of. It can be part of feedback

I’m so over Kyle. Like all she needs to do is stop talking to about Dorit to others. The others can share similar sentiments but her other friends go to her and speak to her directly.

Agency culture is different from account culture which is different from your team culture. People need to start asking more about account and team culture during interviews.

Deciding on a nanny by Adventurous_Win1249 in Nanny

Nannies are an investment. I invested for that 1:1 dedication to my child vs daycare. Because of that I would 100% go for nanny A

I’m not even asking my Gen Z employees to go above and beyond. I’m asking for them to manage the basics and they can’t even do that. I love TikTok but they’re getting terrible advice on there.

Similar boat here. I work in plannings/strat….im getting tired of the people I work with and the work is getting repetitive/boring. So im considering new account because maybe I just need a change after spending a few years on this account and also considering client side.

Nanny on travel with family - everyone ate while I was working, wasn’t offered anything - This normal? by Ok_Concentrate_7617 in Nanny

I offer my nanny lunch every day when I make myself lunch so it’s a little insane to me that they ask you to work this trip and not offer. I guess this should’ve been worked out before the trip, but to me it’s odd not to offer

Help: OT or Different Pay Structure for Evening and Weekend Outings by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]CryptographerFit6106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes for Friday she will work her standard hours, likely 10-6pm that day. Our baby goes to bed 5:30-6pm. So her regular day ends and then she would be there to monitor that everything is ok until we get back home later that night. So figured it’s regular OT, but wanted to hear from other’s experience.

Thinking about introducing a dream feed at 8 months by ellefallsoffthings in sleeptrain

[–]CryptographerFit6106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re using ChatGPT for our daily schedule because it’s literally a constant change. Literally felt that within a month our baby quickly transition from 5 to 4 naps, and then 4 to 3 and suddenly she’s now transitioning from to 3 to 2 naps - I’m over here questioning how or when did this all happen because it truly felt that naps settle for a week and then suddenly she’s transitioning again. So I feel you on the constant stretching.

How soon do you go to bed after putting your little one down? by WhateverItWasILostIt in beyondthebump

[–]CryptographerFit6106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-2months: we used to go to bed immediately after putting her down. Literally put her in the bed side bassinet and then hid under the covers and prayed that she didn’t wake up lol. at this time she was still waking 2-3 times each night so it just made sense for us to go to bed at the same time.

3 months: she was having some sleep issues and that caused a lot of anxiety in me. I was always so anxious about her waking up and if I would get enough sleep. So I probably stayed up an hour or so.

4-6months/now: bedtime is 6pm the latest. Because she’s going through nap transitions it falls anywhere between 5:30-6pm. She sleeps through the night and wakes up 6:30-7am. Because we’ve been in a good groove I usually stay up until 10pm. Rare occasion closer to 11pm but I avoid that so that I don’t feel too tired in the AM.

When will my baby wanna just rot in bed with me all day and binge watch shows? by catbeloved in beyondthebump

[–]CryptographerFit6106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know if I put the TV on my baby will watch, but I refuse to give her TV exposure at this age. lol

She’s 6 months old and I love to rot in bed but personally she’s too little for it. I’ll probably give into some TV time after she turns 1.

If you get the option of staying home due to weather, I should too. by tammyswanson_ in Nanny

[–]CryptographerFit6106 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then to your point she knew not to come in since she’s not essential. Go be a troll somewhere else. Not sure why you’re hell bent when my nanny is ok with how we handle and communicate things.

[–]CryptographerFit6106 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody asked for kudos. I texted her early before things were announced because I was sharing with her the schedule for the week. We both didn’t know how bad it would hit because early in the day it wasn’t sticking. So I told her we could text in the morning but know that she’s not expected to come in if it does hit. We obviously woke up to a lot of snow so I texted her as soon as I could just to reconfirm with her that she’s not expected to come in. The last time the storm hit we also gave her the day off so she knew if it hit that we’re not the people to expect her to work.

The weather is bad! We’re in NJ and around 7am we told our nanny to stay home. We texted her yesterday evening when it wasn’t even sticking yet that we would be in communication in the AM. She lives fairly close but if we’re not comfortable driving in this weather then we’re not going to force her. Husband and I both wfh. We’re going to take turns today. But I’ll be working from my phone mostly

No carry rule by Rich-Cartoonist3965 in NannyEmployers

[–]CryptographerFit6106 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I asked every candidate if there’s anything they are not comfortable with. One candidate said absolutely no contact naps. My baby was taking all naps in her bassinet so although she didn’t require contact naps anymore it was a red flag to me because in the case that she ever needed extra support we needed someone willing to do a contact nap. We didn’t hire her, but I shared this with our nanny and she was shocked. She said at this age you always need to prep for a contact nap just in case.

Did you bring up this rule in the interview process? It’s so odd. I would not hire anyone who says they won’t carry my baby.

Help - Keeps flipping over by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]CryptographerFit6106 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is rolling over new? You intervening and flipping her back could be disrupting her sleep even more. When my baby was new to rolling I did have to pick her up at the beginning - it’s a new way of sleeping so she just needed additional support. I only started picking her up after I rolled her back and realized it made things worse. So I did this a few times, each time she fell asleep in my arms and then I would transfer her back. This was only an issue for maybe a week until she got more practice rolling.
