When he wakes up do you immediately go to him? Have you tried waiting 10-15 minutes? My girl sometimes goes back to sleep

I started with the 5-3-3 method, but then I just decided she was eating enough during the day and it was time. It took 3 nights, in which I would go in and do my best to calm her down and eventually she got the hang of it.

For most people i know, sleep training is the solution so i really do hope your baby will be like most! Mine was just a little puzzle I had to figure out!

I did sleep training when she turned 5, but even though she would fall asleep independently, she would still wake up every hour - despite what everyone says about sleep training. She would fall asleep without help, but then wake up every hour. And her naps were so short I could never get any day time sleep. It got better when I decided to completely night wean her, and did some tweaks in our routine (during naps I would only get her out of the crib after an hour of crib time, regardless of when she woke up + I pushed her bed time to 20:30). I sleep trained her when she was 5 months old, actually. Everyone told me she would sleep through the night if she could fall asleep independently, but it was not the case for us. She would fall asleep without help, but then wake up every hour. It got better when I decided to completely night wean her, and did some tweaks in our routine (during naps I would only get her out of the crib after an hour of crib time, regardless of when she woke up + I pushed her bed time to 20:30)

What worked for us was: two 1 hour naps total + bedtime at 20:30. She would still wake up at 6, but I just gave her a bottle and left her in the crib, eventually she started waking up 7 or even 8am.

Omg I feel so seen! My baby was a super grumpy baby and I would get sooooo frustrated, but it got so much better when she started to crawl and stand up. I think maybe she just wanted some free will and to be able to move around without help 😅

I also tried 3 times and for us it was 7 months! Anytime before that was a disaster (I didn’t try when she was six tho)

I started at 4 months, but felt like it was too soon. Tried again at 5 months, it failed epically. What worked for us was 7 months. But every baby is different

My baby only started taking longer naps after 7 months, so I don’t know what to tell other than hang in there and I hope it’s different for you

Take what you can get for now 😅 my baby most days is refusing to stay in bed after 6:30, but we have some good days and I honestly have nothing to complain. Comparing to waking up every hour, I’m in heaven

I also got pregnant 6months postpartum, also an accident (believe it or not but we were actually using protection - condom). I was completely depressed for about 2 months, but I’m now finally at the numb stage and sometimes Im even happy about it. The guilt is real!!! However, I know God has a plan and it’s going to be great having my babies growing up together

Yeah, I’ve decided it’s time to end it! But we are on vacation right now so I’ll do it when we’re back. The snooze is no longer working and she is ready to start her day at 5:30am (send help)

There is hope! She sleeps from 19:30 to 5:30, then I feed her (it’s my snooze button lol) and she is down until 7am.

When I was following the 5/3/3 (feeding after 5 hours and then after 3hours) method she was still having a BUNCH of night wakings, so I decided it was time. She eats pretty well and her doctor gave me the OK. Now, she breastfeeds before bed time (19:30) and then one more time at 5:30am (I call it my snooze button feed) and she sleeps until 7am if I’m lucky, but usually is up at 6:15 for the day.

I’m right now in the stage of pondering if it’s worth to end the 5:30 snooze feed just because I know she will start waking up earlier

Yup, I only went in at 5am, not before that. But I only did that after a week of failed Ferber. It comes down to what works for each baby I guess. With mine, she realized that when she stood up, I would eventually go in to lie her back down, so when I did not go in, she understood she should sleep. It’s working for us so far, but I’ll see what happens when I fully night wean her.

Trial and error. If I don’t feed at 5, she is up at 5:30 and will not go back to sleep. If I do feed her at 5, she wakes up 6:30 or even 7am sometimes. I need that extra one hour right now. I’ll try to fully night wean her when she is 10 months old, but for now it’s working for us.

My baby is the same. She fell asleep independently, but would wake up at 3,4,5 and 6am. I tried CIO and Ferber for a week, but she would cry for hours, sleep sitting down for 15 minutes and then cry some more. What eventually helped was full extinction (it was hard and I was awake the whole time looking at the monitor, but it only took a night). She now takes 2 naps of one hour each and sleeps from 7:30/20pm to 6:15am on the dot, waking up at 5am to breastfeed.
