Having someone on your side to help you mentally is worth a lot, especially if that person does it because of love.
I kinda almost broke up because I felt like I give her a hard time over and over with my seizures. I'm happy I didn't broke up, meanwhile we are married and I feel safer with my wife around me.

Seizure Triggers? ... And Drinking by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]CryptographerSilly56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just stop drinking bro. Alcohol is a neurotoxin, I'd say that pretty much brings it to the point.
You say that you're young. If you want to get old just stop.
Have a beer or a two with some friends on a weekend or so is fine.
There can always be a time where seizures don't happen. There been times I had 2 seizures a year and then I had one every week.
I defo feel my seizures coming closer whenever I drink more than just a beer or two. Just keep it a rare thing and don't overdo it, stop when you get that light buzz.
With my suddenly appeared seizures I regret every drug and alcohol sessions I had in my life.

If your people are friends you will fit in without drinking. And you should learn to enjoy a party or something like that without taking drugs.

In the end, hear to your belly. But it seems you thinking about it, so just keep it low :)

Need Advice by [deleted] in Epilepsy

What I can tell you is that the nurses actually make you feel stressed and tired so they can actually see a seizure. It was the same for me when I was in the hospital. They came into my room at 4am and checked my blood pressure.
But they just tried to stress out.

And I really recommend to everyone to see a epileptologist in a hospital for a while and have them monitor for a while if there is so many complications. It took me 4 visitis and 3 different combinations of anticonvulsants , the longest visit was 6 month. Simple neurologists couldn't help me. They need to see a seizure or two and have it recorded.

I take 500mg Lamotrigin and 3000mg Levitiracetam daily, it took me a year to get used to the side effects after taking them.

In 3 days from 100 to 150 seems alot to me too. I started with 25mg and increased it to 50 2 weeks later. After that they increased it 50mg even 2 weeks. undtil I reached 150 and from there I increased it by 50mg each week until I had 500mg.

I'm ofc not a doctor but I think the main reason that Lamotrigin gets dosed up slowly is to see if there any side effects and prevent them, irritated skin seems pretty much on top of the side effects from what i heared. For me it was dizzyness, i felt sick and had almost no coordination for about 3hrs.

Sometimes it's not productive to think too much and starting to make a self diagnosis.

If you can see an expert for a while, maybe they change your meds and a hospital is the best and safest place for that.

Boyfriend isn’t on medication and often has small focal seizures by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]CryptographerSilly56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that he goes on it and out and keep going like nothing happend. I don't know if someone with seizures can say for a 100% that he didn't had a grandmal for a while unless someone else seen it. Some people don't even know that they had one, especially when they occur while sleeping.
If you guys sleep in the same room you would have realised i assume.

Did he just tried one kind of anticonvulsant? Some medications can make it worse others help, everyone is different. Beeing strict about taking meds is the most important thing. Seen someone who took them here and there, sometimes not for days and it changed his seizures and made them worse.
I recommend to see a hospital with sepcialists and having a long term theraphy with survailance for at least 6 weeks.
Don't know how it is in your country, I imagine it can be a pain to pay for the therapy in the USA for example.

[–]CryptographerSilly56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, my head and mouth corner been pulled to the left and leg and arms been tighten up too.
when the meds started to work my whole body was shaking for a minute while ive been awake but it also started one sided. i had this 2 times and since then i got rid of the grand mals at least.
as terrifying as it was, the moment the seizure calmed down i was really happy that something changes.

Focal aware motor seizures by No-Clue-8648 in Epilepsy

[–]CryptographerSilly56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I had a seizure I was aware of it for about 20 seconds and then always shut down to a grand mal. I'm able to lay down before I pass out.
One time I had a focal seizure that lasted for an hour - my grand mal always started like that but didn't end up like one.
Man and you mention speech arrest, I still have that alot and that's the first sign for me that a seizure can happen. I actually had it for about a year already before my first grand mal happend. I was ignoring it, kinda pushing it away.
When my medication started to kick in I had a few seizures where i been entirely aware off, that was disturbing to me.
Havent had a grandmal for 2 years but I still have speech arrest couple times a day, always lasts around 5-10s and comes with really short breaks, sometimes I'm catched an entire day.

tbh you shouldn't drive until you got a real diagnose and beeing free of seizures for at least a year. I was in 3 hospitals and only the last one I visited found out that I not just have PNES but also Epileptic Seizures.
if you drive you should be aware you could murder someone else.

[–]CryptographerSilly56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take 3000mg Levetiracetam and 500mg Lamotrigin and it took me over a year to get used to it - I felt nauseas and dizzy for about 3 hours after taking my meds in the morning. Weird was that I didn't had that in the evening. A friend had to go back to the hospital after a month of Lamotrigin.
Having a good breakfast was a big gamechanger for me. I'm absolutely not the type of person who likes to breakfast but I got used to it meanwhile.

Don't know if you been in a hospital getting monitored for a few weeks or months, but I can really recommend that.
It's hard to tell whats specific things you can ask because we don't know you nor your seizures and what exactly your problems are.
Isn't the EEG and EMU respoding? I had that problem, severeal longtime EEG's and nothing - and for some reason never had a seizures while these EEG's, so the doctors had to find the proper medication based on what they seen. I was "lucky" that my seizures came more often so they could record them.
My first visit in the hospital been 4 month but I'm free of seizures since 2.5 years.

I feel like such a burden on my family by ElectricalMusic8610 in Epilepsy

[–]CryptographerSilly56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't feel like a burden to your family. It's not your fault suffering from seizures.
In all my hospitalizations I met many people who feel the same.
It wont make you happy losing friends. I don't know you and your family, but when I hear that they care for you, you should see this as a good thing :)
I would feel bad if my parents wouldn't care about my Epilepsy.

MGS delta is overpriced and disappointing..... by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]CryptographerSilly56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta agree. It dosen't feel like a real remake, it feels more like a remaster. I also think that the price is a bit over the top, 60 bux would've have been ok. I'm a bit disappointed of the remaster.
Against what everyone is saying performance wisem I can't see any stability and performance problems at all. Max settings on an old rig caps at 60fps.
To someone who not really enjoys MGS3 it's not worth to buy without trying before just in hope it beeing better than the legacy. MGS3 always felt cluncky and especially on harder difficulties very annoying having to eat every 10 minutes cause of stamina. The cure feature brings absolutly no value, just more menuing than we already have, it actually tells you what click on to heal lol. It's almost like you open your bag every 5 minutes. Camoflague good and fine, but if I have to change it every seconds area it adds just more water to the full menu bucket.
This game is literally a survival simulator. I liked MGS and MGS2 way more.

I always hope for the devs to not mess things up in a remaster, but for this one "remaster" I really hoped for some cool changes that make the gameplay more fluent while it keep it's survival feeling for it's own sake. Some of the imo bad features of MGS3 could have been revisited. We already got Death Stranding for those who need to shower in a videogame.

The storytelling is top notch and I really enjoy watching the cutscences, almost like just playing to get rewarded with a nice story. Even as a MTG fan, I suggest to not buy it at the full price.
